Lieutenant General Ajay Ramdev, SM, Director General Integrated Training and President of the Services Sports Control Board (SSCB), called on Director General Paramesh Sivamani, AVSM, PTM, TM, Director General of the Indian Coast Guard, on 12 June 2026 to discuss avenues for strengthening cooperation between the two services.
During the interaction, the senior officers deliberated on measures to enhance jointness and integration between the Indian Army and the Indian Coast Guard across a range of domains, including military training, sports, adventure activities and the utilisation of Defence Security Corps (DSC) personnel.
The discussions focused on promoting greater collaboration in training methodologies and sharing best practices to improve professional competence and operational effectiveness. Both sides also explored opportunities to expand participation in sports and adventure activities, recognising their role in fostering teamwork, leadership and physical excellence.
The meeting further examined avenues for optimising the utilisation of DSC personnel and strengthening institutional cooperation through greater coordination and resource sharing.
The interaction reflected the growing emphasis on jointness and inter-service collaboration within India’s defence establishment, aimed at enhancing operational synergy and developing integrated capabilities across the Armed Forces and maritime security agencies.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to fostering closer cooperation and leveraging each other’s expertise to strengthen training standards, personnel development and overall organisational effectiveness.
