Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command, visited the Combat Army Aviation Training School on June 2, 2026, where he inaugurated several landmark initiatives aimed at enhancing sustainability, quality standards and institutional excellence.
During the visit, the Army Commander inaugurated the Green & Smart Campus Initiative, making CAATS the first Category ‘A’ establishment of the Indian Army to adopt the transformative model. The initiative is designed to promote sustainability, efficient resource management and a modern, technology-enabled learning environment.

Lt Gen Sharma also launched the institution’s ISO Certification Programme, underscoring CAATS’ commitment to quality management, continuous improvement and adherence to internationally recognised standards in training and administration.
As part of the visit, the Army Commander presented GOC-in-C Commendation Cards to serving personnel in recognition of their professionalism, dedication and exemplary service. He also honoured veterans for their distinguished contributions to the nation and their enduring association with the Army Aviation fraternity.

Interacting with officers, instructors and trainees, Lt Gen Sharma appreciated the efforts of the Commandant and all ranks of CAATS in fostering innovation, institutional excellence and future-ready training methodologies.
He highlighted the importance of adapting military training establishments to meet the demands of evolving technologies and modern warfare, particularly in domains such as aviation, unmanned systems and multi-domain operations.

The Army Commander commended CAATS for creating a progressive training ecosystem focused on innovation, sustainability and operational relevance, reinforcing its role as a premier centre for Army Aviation training.
The visit reaffirmed ARTRAC’s commitment to transforming military education and training institutions into modern centres of excellence capable of preparing soldiers and officers for the challenges of future battlefields.
