Lieutenant General Hitesh Bhalla, UYSM, SC, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding (GOC) Fire and Fury Corps, visited the Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre to review key training activities, infrastructure development projects and regimental initiatives aimed at enhancing operational capabilities.
During the visit, the Corps Commander assessed ongoing efforts to strengthen training standards and improve facilities for troops serving in one of the Indian Army’s most demanding operational environments.

A major highlight of the visit was the inauguration of the newly constructed ‘Chhering Nurbu’ Training Hall and a state-of-the-art Indoor Containerised Shooting Range. The new facilities are expected to significantly enhance training effectiveness and provide advanced infrastructure for skill development and marksmanship training.
Lt Gen Bhalla also witnessed an impressive demonstration of lead climbing skills by personnel of the regiment, showcasing the specialised capabilities required for operations in mountainous and high-altitude terrain. He felicitated outstanding performers for their achievements and dedication to excellence.

Interacting with officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and troops, the General Officer commended all ranks of the Ladakh Scouts Regiment for their professionalism, high standards and unwavering commitment to duty. He appreciated their exceptional contribution towards maintaining operational readiness and combat effectiveness in challenging high-altitude conditions.
The Corps Commander lauded the regiment’s continued focus on training, capability enhancement and infrastructure development, noting that such initiatives play a crucial role in strengthening preparedness along India’s northern frontiers.

The visit reaffirmed the Fire and Fury Corps’ commitment to developing modern training facilities, fostering operational excellence and ensuring that troops remain prepared to meet evolving security challenges in the high-altitude regions of Ladakh.
Known as the “Snow Warriors,” the Ladakh Scouts have earned a distinguished reputation for their expertise in mountain warfare and their invaluable contribution to safeguarding India’s borders in some of the world’s most demanding terrain.
