Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command, visited the forward areas of the Ladakh sector to review the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness of troops deployed along the sensitive frontier.
During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on the current operational environment, border management measures and ongoing capability enhancement initiatives aimed at strengthening readiness and response capabilities in the region.

The review focused on maintaining a high level of operational preparedness, infrastructure development and force modernization efforts undertaken to address emerging security challenges in the strategically important sector.
Lt Gen Sharma also interacted with troops deployed in forward locations and received updates on operational deployments, surveillance measures and preparedness levels under challenging terrain and extreme weather conditions.

Commending all ranks for their professionalism, dedication and steadfast commitment to duty, the Northern Army Commander praised the troops for their unwavering vigilance in safeguarding the nation’s borders despite the harsh climatic conditions and difficult terrain of Ladakh.
Recognising their exemplary service and operational excellence, Lt Gen Sharma felicitated soldiers during the visit and acknowledged their invaluable contribution to maintaining security and stability along the frontier.

He encouraged the troops to continue upholding the highest standards of operational readiness, discipline and military professionalism while remaining prepared to effectively respond to any emerging challenge.
