Major Krishnapal Singh Tops Signals Engineering Course at MCTE Convocation Ceremony

Officers from India and four friendly foreign nations graduate from prestigious engineering and technical courses at Mhow.

The Convocation Ceremony of the Signals Officers Degree Engineering Course and Technical Entry Scheme (TES) Course was held at the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow, on 19 June 2026, marking the successful completion of advanced technical and engineering training by Indian Army officers and officers from friendly foreign countries.

The ceremony was presided over by Shri S. Krishnan, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, who congratulated the graduating officers for their dedication, perseverance and outstanding academic achievements.

Award Being Given

Apart from Indian Army officers, six officers from Nepal, Gambia, Vietnam and Bhutan successfully completed the prestigious courses, highlighting MCTE’s role in strengthening military cooperation and professional engagement with friendly foreign nations.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Krishnan emphasised the growing importance of emerging technologies in national security and highlighted the strategic partnership between MeitY and MCTE. He noted that collaboration in areas such as telecommunications, digital technologies and innovation would contribute significantly towards strengthening India’s defence capabilities while advancing the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

During the ceremony, Major Krishnapal Singh was adjudged First in Order of Merit in the Signals Officers Degree Engineering Course, recognising his exceptional academic performance and professional excellence throughout the programme.

In the Technical Entry Scheme Course, Lieutenant Kapil secured First in Order of Merit, earning distinction for his outstanding achievements during the course.

The Signals Officers Degree Engineering Course and TES Course are among the Indian Army’s premier technical training programmes, designed to develop highly skilled officers capable of operating, managing and innovating in increasingly technology-driven military environments.

Officials noted that the successful completion of the courses reflects the Indian Army’s continued emphasis on technological proficiency, professional education and capacity building to meet the demands of future warfare.

The convocation ceremony celebrated not only academic excellence but also the shared commitment of participating nations towards professional military education, technological advancement and enhanced defence cooperation.

As the graduating officers move on to their respective assignments, they carry forward advanced technical expertise and leadership skills that will contribute to strengthening operational effectiveness and national security in an evolving strategic landscape.
