The Indian Coast Guard Training Centre (CGTC), Kochi, conducted the Passing Out Parade of the 82nd Indian Coast Guard Law & Operations Course on 4 August 2026, marking a significant milestone in the professional journey of a new batch of Coast Guard officers.
The parade was reviewed by the District Commander, Coast Guard District Headquarters No. 4 (Kerala & Mahe), who congratulated the graduating officers on successfully completing the rigorous training programme. During the ceremony, meritorious officers were felicitated for their outstanding academic performance, professional excellence and exemplary conduct throughout the course.
The specialised Law & Operations Course equips young Coast Guard officers with the knowledge and skills required to undertake maritime law enforcement duties and Coast Guard-specific operational responsibilities. The comprehensive training programme covers subjects essential for safeguarding India’s maritime interests, enforcing maritime laws and conducting coastal security operations.
Having successfully completed the course, the officers are now qualified for frontline deployment across operational units of the Indian Coast Guard. They will also undergo watchkeeping certification onboard Indian Coast Guard ships, enabling them to assume operational responsibilities at sea.
Addressing the graduating officers, the Reviewing Officer commended their dedication, discipline and professionalism, urging them to uphold the highest standards of integrity and service while carrying out their responsibilities in protecting India’s vast maritime domain.
The Passing Out Parade reaffirmed the Indian Coast Guard’s commitment to developing professionally competent and operationally capable officers ready to respond to diverse maritime challenges, including coastal security, maritime law enforcement, search and rescue operations, environmental protection and humanitarian assistance. The newly graduated officers now join the frontline of India’s maritime security architecture, prepared to contribute towards safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests with courage, professionalism and dedication.
