The Indian Air Force successfully carried out a complex night-time Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) operation in the Kishtwar sector, airlifting two critically injured personnel under extremely challenging terrain and adverse weather conditions.
The high-precision mission was executed during dark hours over rugged mountainous terrain and was made possible by the IAF’s rigorous Night Vision Goggles (NVG) training, which enables aircrew to operate safely and accurately in low-visibility environments.

This operational preparedness has been institutionalised through Joint Ops Stamina Honing (JOSH) exercises, a key initiative aimed at strengthening jointness and interoperability among the Armed Forces. Such training ensures seamless coordination across services during high-risk and time-sensitive missions.

The successful MEDEVAC operation reflects the IAF’s high standards of professionalism, robust training ethos, and operational excellence. It once again underscores the Indian Air Force’s all-weather, day-and-night operational readiness and its proven ability to deliver mission success whenever and wherever required, even in the most demanding operational scenarios.
