The LICO Course conducted at the Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School (CIJWS), Vairengte, concluded on May 28 with participation from personnel of the Indian Army and trainees from four friendly foreign countries.
A total of 26 international trainees from Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka attended the course alongside Indian Army personnel, reflecting growing military cooperation and knowledge-sharing in specialised warfare training.

The closing address was delivered by Major General Kulvir Singh, SM**, Commandant of CIJWS, who highlighted the evolving nature of warfare driven by rapid technological advancements and emerging operational challenges.
He urged the trainees to uphold the values of clarity, courage, and compassion in their professional conduct while adapting to the changing battlefield environment.

At the conclusion of the course, Captain Saatvik Sheopuri from the Gorkha Rifles was adjudged the Best Student in the Officers’ category, while Naik Freddy Vanneihtluanga from the Assam Regiment was awarded Best Student in the JCO/NCO category.
Officials stated that the course reinforced CIJWS’ reputation as one of the world’s premier institutions for counter-insurgency and jungle warfare training while strengthening defence cooperation with friendly foreign nations.
