Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command, visited units deployed along the Line of Control in the Kupwara sector to review operational preparedness and assess the robustness of the anti-infiltration grid.
During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on the prevailing security situation, deployment posture, and measures being undertaken to prevent infiltration attempts across the Line of Control.
Lt Gen Sharma also witnessed demonstrations of innovative solutions successfully implemented under field conditions to integrate Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS) with established military Techniques, Training and Procedures (TTPs). The integration is aimed at enhancing surveillance, situational awareness, and overall combat effectiveness along the LoC.
The Army Commander appreciated the efforts of troops in adopting emerging technologies to strengthen operational capabilities in a challenging and dynamic security environment.
Interacting with soldiers deployed in forward areas, he commended all ranks for their battle-hardened resilience, indomitable courage, and unwavering commitment to duty while operating under demanding conditions.
Emphasising the importance of continuous improvement, Lt Gen Sharma urged personnel to persistently refine battle drills and operational skills while becoming increasingly technologically adept, mentally resilient, and tactically agile.
Officials stated that the visit reaffirmed the Indian Army’s focus on maintaining a robust anti-infiltration posture and leveraging technological innovation to enhance combat readiness and border security along the Line of Control.
