The Platoon Commanders’ Course at the Junior Leaders Wing (JLW), Belagavi, concluded on 16 June 2026, marking the successful completion of an intensive leadership and professional military training programme for junior leaders.
The course brought together personnel from the Indian Army as well as 17 military students from friendly foreign countries, including Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan, reflecting the institution’s growing role in fostering international military cooperation and professional exchanges.

The valedictory function was presided over by Major General Rakesh Manocha, SM, VSM, Commander, Junior Leaders Wing, who delivered the closing address and congratulated the participants on successfully completing the course.
During the ceremony, outstanding performers were recognised for their exceptional achievements. Subedar Amrinder Singh of the Sikh Regiment was adjudged the Best Student of the course for his exemplary performance, leadership qualities and professional competence.

Sergeant Sujan Ghimire of the Nepal Army was awarded the Best Foreign Student trophy in recognition of his outstanding performance and dedication throughout the training programme.
The Platoon Commanders’ Course is designed to enhance leadership skills, tactical proficiency and decision-making abilities among junior leaders, preparing them to effectively command troops in diverse operational environments.

The participation of military personnel from friendly foreign nations further strengthened defence cooperation, mutual understanding and professional bonds between the armed forces of India and partner countries.
The successful conclusion of the course reaffirmed the Junior Leaders Wing’s commitment to developing capable and confident military leaders while promoting international military engagement and excellence in professional training.
