As part of their military orientation and professional development programme, Gentleman Cadets of the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya, visited the historic JAT Regimental Centre, gaining firsthand exposure to the training ecosystem that shapes Agniveers into combat-ready soldiers.
The visit provided the cadets with valuable insights into the regiment’s rich military heritage, operational ethos and the rigorous training methodologies employed to prepare Agniveers for service in the Indian Army.

During the interaction, the cadets toured the centre’s state-of-the-art training infrastructure and were briefed on various aspects of Agniveer training, including physical conditioning, military skills development, weapon training, leadership cultivation and character building.
The exposure enabled the future officers to better understand the transformation process through which young recruits are moulded into disciplined, resilient and mission-oriented soldiers capable of meeting the demands of modern warfare.

The cadets also learned about the proud traditions, battle honours and legacy of the JAT Regiment, one of the Indian Army’s most distinguished infantry regiments. The visit highlighted the regiment’s enduring values of courage, sacrifice, discipline and unwavering commitment to duty.
Senior instructors and officers of the Regimental Centre shared their experiences and provided insights into the challenges and responsibilities of training the next generation of warriors under the Agnipath scheme.

Officials noted that such immersion programmes help bridge the gap between classroom learning and ground realities, offering cadets a deeper appreciation of the training standards, professionalism and regimental spirit that underpin the Indian Army’s operational effectiveness.
The visit served as an inspiring experience for the Gentleman Cadets, reinforcing the importance of leadership, mentorship and regimental ethos in shaping future military leaders.
By witnessing the Agniveer training framework firsthand, the cadets gained a greater understanding of the values and traditions that continue to define the JAT Regiment and contribute to the Indian Army’s combat readiness.
