SSB interview, it is the simplest but confusing part of SSB where candidates find it hard to answer the basic simple questions in a right and required way. From the beginning to the ending, it’s the suspense that exists in the interview and after it. Some questions are always encountered in the interview which makes mind confused and candidates answer them in an unexpected way. Below are some questions which usually get in front of candidates.
- Do you have any Girlfriend/ Boyfriend?
Generally, candidates find themselves in a trap when they are asked about their girlfriend or any best female friend. It is just an informative question and Interviewing Officers want to analyse your concentration and dedication toward aim or future plans. Whenever you are asked about these kinds of questions, who need to stay firm on your ground by saying that you have many female friends and don’t have any girlfriend. Your future plans are more important at this time. Avoid revealing about yourself to stay away from extra questions
- Your marks/ percentage have an irregular pattern. Why?
Ups and downs in marks in 10th, 10+2 and graduation is the most asked question and generally makes candidates a bit answerless to some extent. If you have a progressive pattern then you will be asked about the efforts you have made to increase the percentage, if your marks are digressive then you will be probed for the reason behind it. And a candidate with consistent performance is rarely questioned about it.
- What if you not get selected this time?
Candidates who show their extreme inclination toward armed forces are asked what they will do in cases they get conference out this time. Now some candidates still show their sticky nature and replies to attempt SSB again and again till he got recommended. This shows your time wastage and passive aim. You have to show your alternate plan for future as nobody can depend on SSB for a long time following the eligibility pattern of entries. So explain your alternate aim along with your interest in the armed forces.
- Why you selected outdoor games rather than indoor games?
Candidates always mention outdoor games in PIQ form. Few candidates mention some indoor games. When asked about choosing outdoor games rather than indoor games, candidates may answer about the qualities they learn from outdoor games like cooperation, a group working, stamina improvement and others as per your sports.
- Whom do you like most, mother or father?
This question takes down many candidates. While answering this question, some candidates prefer father and some prefer mother. Complete biasing toward anyone is not right. The candidate should answer preferring both equally by depicting their qualities. Children of military personnel may show their slight inclination toward mother due to father’s tough duty schedule.
- Why got rejected last time?
This question can spoil your game and is specially framed for repeaters. Candidates need to avoid bushing around and bluffing. Give a reason that is acceptable like weak communication skill, slow or bad writing or any other genuine reason.
- A situation to check qualities.
To check one’s capability or decision making, the Interviewing Officer sometimes asked situation that occurs rarely. One- to- many situations, situations with no resources nearby, multiple tasks at any instance etc. Candidates must answer them as per their qualities (stamina, decision making). Mostly one to one situation is can be tackled using physical stamina. But one- to- many has to be used using resources. Similarly, in a resources situation, the candidate must think practically rather than responding irrelevantly.
