Air Marshal Embarks on Visionary Visit to Base Repair Depot, Palam

Air Marshal Vibhas Pande, the distinguished Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of HQ Maintenance Command, embarked on a transformative visit to the Base Repair Depot in Palam from March 6th to March 7th, 2024.

Accompanied by Mrs. Ruchira Pande, the esteemed President of the Air Force Family Welfare Association (Regional), Air Marshal Pande’s visit heralded a new era of innovation and excellence in the Indian Air Force’s maintenance operations.

During his tenure at the Depot, Air Marshal Pande participated in a seminar aimed at enhancing the supply chain management system fleet of the Indian Air Force, which he inaugurated with great enthusiasm on March 6th, 2024.

The seminar served as a platform for robust discussions on the maintenance intricacies of RADAR systems deployed in high-altitude areas, as well as exploring innovative solutions to overcome associated supply chain challenges. Air Marshal Pande also seized the opportunity to engage with the Depot personnel and industry representatives, fostering dialogue and collaboration in pursuit of excellence.

On March 7th, 2024, Air Marshal Pande undertook the momentous task of inaugurating the Centre for Advanced Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and Avionics Repairs Lab at the Depot. Air Commodore Harsh Bahl, the dedicated Air Officer Commanding of Base Repair Depot, Palam, provided a comprehensive briefing on the integrated approach for avionics repair infrastructure, consolidating various facilities under a single roof.

Additionally, Air Marshal Pande was apprised of the Depot’s initiatives in indigenization under the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” Mission, including the successful implementation of the Radar Emulator and other ground breaking endeavours.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Ruchira Pande embarked on a separate journey of exploration, visiting various ventures operated by the Air Force Family Welfare Association (Local) within the Depot.

She was particularly impressed by the Recreation Cum Therapy Centre, a pioneering initiative providing therapies to the specially-abled children of the Depot and neighbouring units. Witnessing first hand the dedication and care with which children were being nurtured and empowered, Mrs. Pande lauded the center’s efforts in breaking barriers and fostering inclusivity.

The visit of Air Marshal Vibhas Pande and Mrs. Ruchira Pande to Base Repair Depot, Palam, underscored the Indian Air Force’s unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and the well-being of its personnel and their families. As they departed, their visit left an indelible mark, inspiring all involved to strive for greater heights of achievement and service to the nation.
