Battle Axe Division: A Legacy of Valour
The Battle Axe Division, formally known as the 11 Infantry Division, is one of the most prestigious formations of the Indian Army. Raised during World War II, the Division has a distinguished combat history and has played a crucial role in several operations, including the Indo-Pak Wars of 1965 and 1971.
The Division, part of the Konark Corps under the Southern Command, is headquartered in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. It continues to stand as a symbol of resilience, valour, and professionalism, guarding India’s western frontiers and contributing significantly to the Army’s operational readiness.
