Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, visited forward locations including the Siachen Brigade, Eastern Ladakh, and the Karakoram Pass to review the operational preparedness of troops deployed in these strategically vital areas.
During his visit, the Army Commander lauded the high morale, professionalism, and steadfast commitment of all ranks serving in the extreme and challenging terrain. At the Siachen Base Camp, he interacted with winners of the National Flag Quiz, appreciating their patriotic spirit and dedication towards the nation.
Lt Gen Sharma also flagged-in a mountaineering expedition that successfully scaled a formidable peak of over 7,000 metres in the Siachen sector. Commending the teamโs indomitable courage and determination, he described the achievement as a new benchmark in the history of Indian mountaineering, symbolising the grit and resilience of the Indian Army.
The visit reinforced the Army Commanderโs confidence in the preparedness and unwavering commitment of troops safeguarding the nationโs frontiers under the most challenging conditions.
