The Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) celebrated its 83rd Corps Day with pride and reverence, honouring over eight decades of excellence in ensuring the Indian Army’s operational readiness and technological prowess.
On this momentous occasion, the Eagles fraternity of Surya Command paid heartfelt tributes to the indomitable spirit, precision, and innovation of the EME Corps, which continues to play a pivotal role in maintaining the Army’s combat capability and driving its tech-led transformation.
Major General Suresh S, MG EME, led the commemorative events by laying a wreath and paying homage to the fallen heroes at the Smritika War Memorial, Lucknow. The solemn ceremony was followed by an interaction with veterans and serving EME personnel, reflecting the Corps’ strong bond across generations of soldiers and engineers.

In his address, Maj Gen Suresh S lauded the Corps’ unwavering dedication to the motto “Karam Hi Dharma” (Work is Worship) and emphasized the importance of innovation and self-reliance in strengthening the Army’s technological edge.
For over eight decades, the EME has stood as the silent pillar behind the Indian Army’s combat readiness—from battlefield recovery and equipment maintenance to modernization and integration of next-generation systems. The Corps continues to ensure that every machine, vehicle, and weapon platform performs flawlessly when duty calls.
As the EME marks “83 Years of Brilliance in Bolt, Circuit & Courage,” the celebration stands as a tribute to the Corps’ enduring legacy of technical excellence, courage under fire, and its vital contribution to a self-reliant and future-ready Indian Army.
