A state-of-the-art Basketball Node under the Western Command has been established at Patiala, marking a significant milestone in the Indian Armyโs Mission Olympics initiative aimed at nurturing sporting excellence within the forces.

The newly developed facility features multiple professional-grade basketball courts, integrated strength training areas, and sports therapy zones โ all designed to support holistic fitness and enhance the performance of Army athletes. The centre reflects the Armyโs strategic focus on developing modern sports infrastructure to meet international standards.

Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, Army Commander, Western Command, visited the newly created node and commended all ranks involved in its meticulous planning and execution. He praised the initiative as a reflection of the Armyโs enduring commitment to promoting discipline, fitness, and national pride through sports.

This modern facility is envisioned as a premier training hub for Army basketball players, providing them with world-class facilities to hone their skills and achieve peak performance.
