GD Topic Series: NOTA as a Voting Option

GD Topic Series: NOTA as a Voting Option

After a lot many controversies caused by Bandh and other forms of action taken by the socialist activists finally NOTAas a option of voting was introduced by the election commission in elections. NOTAstand for none of the above and is an option which allows a perfect democratic form of rejecting all the candidates that are standing in a constituency. Indian politics has its own legacy which is not hidden from anyone of us.  Aspirants are expected to have proper understanding of the Indian politics so that few examples could be given related to the criminals and uneducated people who stand in election and even win elections. There have been few people who play with the legacy and the system of the place, get votes by illegal means.

NOTA as a system of voting helps a voter experience his/her rejection right where any person standing in election can be rejected and if NOTA count exceeds the count of all the candidates standing for a constituency then there would be a provision of re-election. It has been long that this option has been introduced but it’s still a big question that the Indian people do not understand its importance because of the dynamics that plays its role in an election. Still 30-40 percent people don’t know the utility of this option and select people based on cast, creed and colour. The roots are deep into the system and would definitely take time to be removed when India too will have fair and fine politics and safe elections. Many incidents of attack, booth capturing are still common to hear though EC works hard to prevent and deploys a lot of force. Advantages of NOTA are:
  • Rejection right is practiced if no candidate is felt suitable.
  • You should understand the background of person and then only vote. Earlier when NOTA were not there this was not at all the possibility.
  • We as youth have responsibility on our shoulders to spread awareness and spread the message in rural India.
  • This option will promote right people standing in a constituency.
    NOTA as a Voting Option
These are some of the facts that can be presented in topics of this genre. Also the topics should be linked with various other Indian scenarios and many examples could be cited. To start a GD series of this sort is to provide aspirants an idea of regulating facts in a nutshell and suggest how topics can be handled. Suggestions can be given to me about the need of discussion of other such topics also. Also work hard for your goal and achieve it at any cost. But you have to work hard for it and become perfect. Hope these are some of the useful points that I use and have experienced in life. They really helped me achieve a lot and push back big difficulties. Still you need to share your personal problems related to any facet of life, you can drop me a mail for counselling, mentoring which can be done from your place under my guidance, related to SSB at [email protected] or drop me a message at Facebook with the problem. I would be really pleased to help future officers who are in a process of getting ready to protect my motherland.

G.K Boost Series, Brisbane G20 Summit

0

Hello heroes, having to read long and insipid articles can be very somnolent. I can empathize with you. However, need not worry we are there to your rescue presenting a G.K boost series, which would help you to obviate reading inordinate piece of news and save time.

Today we will discuss G20 summit in a brief manner.

WHAT IS G20?

G20 is a group of the world’s top 20 largest economies. Formed in 1999, it strives to increase economic (trade) cooperation between the member countries to surge growth and standard of living in these countries. It also holds discussions on cardinal issues of the world economy. India is a pivotal part of the G20. Moreover, holds a position of paramount importance amongst the G20 nations.
TAKEAWAYS OF BRISBANE SUMMIT (15-16 Nov 2014)
  1. Tony Abbott (Australian PM and chairperson of G20 for this year) exhorted each nation to fast track reforms in order to achieve an increase of 2% in the growth rate of all the G20 economies summed up together. A 2% increase will mean generation of a trillion dollar capital and myriad of jobs.
  2. President of the USA, Barack Obama tried to pitch up the pro climate rhetoric. He emphasized on how important Asia pacific region is in terms of climate change. He deemed his recent deal with China as historic and urged every country to take a similar pledge to bring a drastic cut in the carbon emissions of the world. He stressed the need for a consensus among nations about global climatic issues.
    g20 brisbane summit GK
  3. The Russian President, Vladimir Putin faced the dissension of the west for his despotic policies. He faced the wrath of several nations for aiding and abetting violence in Ukraine through the pro Russian rebels. However, Putin seemed unfazed by these happenings.
  4.  All the G20 nations vowed to give complete support to fight and annihilate the Ebola epidemic, considered as the deadliest and fatal outbreak of this century.
  5. Last but not the least, the apple of our eye, PM Narendra Modi propounded couple of things. He affirmed that a common and collaborative effort is the best way to counter the global terrorism. He said the reforms should be technology driven and should be able to change the lives of poor. He reassured the people of India that repatriation (bringing back to the nation) of Black Money from foreign soil is on his agenda.
CRUX:- The change in the central government of India has apparently prompted a change in the world’s attitude towards our country. This G20 summit was a strong indicator of that. People now see India as a reform driven country, which is on the path of unbridled economic growth.
Got little bored?
The reason I touched this subject was to ensure everyone that understanding international happenings is not very difficult. Trust you me, you will not have an interview without the IO quizzing your brain about International relations.  So friends instead of parroting “I don’t know sir, I will get back to you sir”, start the journey towards expanding your G.K base.
Stay tuned to SSBCRACK for your daily dose of important developments around the world.

Augment Your Strengths and Mitigate Your Weaknesses

Hola guys (and gals as well). Firstly, give a pat at your back. Done? Cool. I really salute and revere all you patriots here. Visiting this site religiously is no child’s play. You are a special animal.

Now, let us get to business. It is a known fact that one should know about his strengths and weaknesses in and out. Seldom will you encounter an interview without the interviewer asking you this question. There is a self-appraisal test in the psychological testing in which it is required that you write about your strong and weak points. Before going ahead, one must understand that we are all very different like our fingerprints. Therefore, finding your strengths and weakness is a painstaking task.

STRENGTHENING YOUR STRENGTHS
We all have different talents and specialties, instead of trying your hands at everything, master one thing.  It is a famous saying that, avoid being “JACK OF ALL TRADES AND MASTER OF NONE”. While it is required that you have all attributes of an officer in adequate amounts, there has to be something in you that makes you stand out. Hence, the best way to do this is by mastering your area of interest, be it reading about a particular thing, your corporeal abilities or anything else. Cannot believe me? (Good going 😉 )
Well there was a guy who had extensive and fulsome knowledge about WARS from the earliest of battles to the Kargil, He knew almost everything. To his amazement, the interviewer found this quite interesting and quizzed him exclusively about WARS for 75% of his interview. He is currently at the rank of a captain in the Indian army.
CRUX:- Develop the area of your interest/ liking to a level which is extraordinary and unprecedented.

Augment Your Strengths and Mitigate Your Weaknesses

WEAKENING YOUR WEAKNESSES
The thing we can surely tell about humans is that they are ‘FALLIBLE’. We are not SUPERMAN or HANUMAN but HUMAN.
Therefore, to say that having weaknesses is not at all bad, it is a key characteristic of human nature. However, do we know our real weaknesses? Do we care about what others feel about us? Have we ever tried to burgeon into a better person? If not, then start today. Some people say that do not reveal too many weaknesses do not divulge any grave flaws in your personality. However, I beg to differ, we are not National Award Winning actors who can lie through their hat without any hesitation. Therefore, it is better to identify your weak points and start working on them. Your weaknesses may be generic like having little general knowledge, unpolished communication skills, nervousness etc. On the other hand, you can have some serious weaknesses like over aggressive nature, egoism, being delinquent, negative mindedness.
The best way to know your weaknesses is to talk to the people who understand you and are close to you. One can ask his friends, parents, teachers for a genuine opinion about oneself.  After coming to know your shortcomings, go about correcting them. The reason I am stressing this is that it is ridiculous to think that we can hide our shortcomings just by not revealing them in your interview. The assessors know your weaknesses, how much you know about them.
I have a firm believe that we all are more than capable of achieving our dream. We all have adequate OLQs imbued in us. It is just a matter of polishing and fine-tuning our skills. We shall overcome some day.
With this, I would like to take leave for today. We will talk about this subject in greater length in my subsequent articles.

It’s All About English-Vinglish

importance of english in ssb

How much ever one stresses the importance of ‘MATRABHASHA’, it is a indelible fact that English is an indispensable part of most work cultures across the globe. The defence services being field of utmost national importance requires its serving personnel to be thoroughly versed with the foreign language. Therefore in the SSB interview it is a given that one comes with proficient English speaking abilities. Be it group discussion, lecturette, personal interview or a brief chat with your GTO efficient use of language will cast a long lasting impression on the concerned officer. Unfortunately English not being our mother tongue, eludes us everyday. But, don’t worry guys u don’t have to be an arnab goswami in SSB. Here are some easy tips to improve your English in no time.

  1. Drive away the fear:- Just don’t let this ghost of English frighten you anymore,to hell with others, Be it right or wrong start speaking English today without worrying about its correctness.
  2. Surround Yourself with English:-Try to be with English speaking people, read newspapers, watch English TV shows, news, movies etc. initially you won’t understand a word but with time you will see the magic of this endeavor.
  3. Maintain a book:- we are not swami Vivekananda, therefore it is very important that we maintain  a log of newly learnt words and techniques.
  4. Consult a specialist:- Be it your school teacher or a next door aunt, have no qualms about seeking the advice of people when needed. If you are really serious about improving your English then go about it.
    It’s All About English-Vinglish
  5. Make mistakes:- Its better to speak English and make mistakes than to keep mum.One day suremy these mistakes would become your strength.
  6. Start with children novels:-It sounds little embarrassing, but if you really don’t comprehend most of things written in this article, then start with a novice level story book like panchtantra.
  7. Use internet:- you can use the internet for anything related to English from word meaning to verbatim translations.
  8. Take it easy:-If you are able to express your views in a confident and coherent manner its enough. Sevices don’t require a language teacher.
And at last there are no short cuts to anything in life, it is a gradual process. There is no substitute for speaking. Therefore, without losing hope we should continue our quest towards the glory of donning the uniform. And if you have any queries about anything, just drop an email at [email protected]

How To Get Success In SSB ?

“There is no hope in the dark I see… but only in the light that reveals it to me!! “ ~~ Unknown

The Service selection board has stringent parameters that test the candidate and declare them fit for the defence services. These selections are purely based on the availability of officer like qualities (OLQ’s) in the candidate and nothing more than that. Many aspirants who come to join my mentor ship program ask me some of the doubts which I would clear now.
  1. English should be good while going to SSB? I would like to say that though English is not the necessary language to speak in and you will be provided with the option of speaking in Hindi, but English being the common language that could be understood by all as people come from all places in India. So in greater interest English should be used when in groups or performing group activities.
  2. I will go without preparation as my friends say that it’s the best way to perform? No doubt that self-introspection is the best thing to prepare and do well in SSB and the person having proper understanding of the process should clearly do it but only when you know what to analyse and what to improve. When everyone now days being proactive prepares well and come, one should not wait till the last moment for preparation. Also one point to remember is that always prefer assessment under the expert who can guide you one to one and take care of your personality individually.
How To Get Success In SSB ?

  3. Psychology and PI are best learn under such situations where your personality is analysed properly and then only the assessment techniques are told as remember, some answer good for a particular persona can be wrong for you depending on the personality types, hence never try to follow the readymade answers in this regard. They might or might not suit your personality.
  4. Don’t wait for the last moment for the admit card or call letter and then start working on your personality. Even if you plan to take help of an assessor you should take well in advance as personality changes take time to happen and if things are done at the end moment the reflections might not be possible.
  5. Learn as to what it needed to be delivered in the tests that would be conducted over you rather than learning the answers as they might not fit your personality. So initially try to understand yourself and if unable to do so take help of experts only to understand what you really are.
If you have any other myth and want to clarify or still you have any confusion or feel to take individual assessment of personality for OLQ’s or prepare from your place itself through one to one interaction through my mentoring / counseling program drop me a mail at [email protected] or add me on Fb and drop in a message. It would be a pleasure to help and resolve queries and clear doubts which are more often myths. Remember SSB is just about revealing your personality truly and I believe this is the easiest job one can do.
