Hi, I am Lakshyaraj Singh, I recently got recommended from 18 SSB Allahabad for National Defence Academy NDA 148 course in my 2nd attempt. My journey begin when I was 10 years old, I was in my village and watching T.V with my Grandfather and my cousins. We were watching. Border movie and when the movie finished on that day I have decided to join the Indian army.
I appeared in NDA 147 course written exam in April 2021 and I failed that. Also got a conference out from 21 ssb Bhopal for TES 45. Back-to-back failures made me feel sad, but there was the belief that I had from my childhood that we are Rajput we don’t give up, so I continued my preparation for the next NDA written exam, this time I took SSBCrackExams 3 months course for UPSC NDA written examination. I used this platform to clear the concept and learn the formulas of maths that are not in NCERT. Took all the classes of English helped me to score 155 out of 200 in English.
And after appearing in the exam on 14 November I was confident of clearing the paper this time so I started my preparation for SSB Interview. This time my main focus is on personality development, I participated in inter-college debates, a journalism program, started workout at the gym, being more organised and productive in daily life.
Done introspection to find out my strengths and weaknesses. Also wrote a book and published it on Kindle Direct Publishing, started conducting and participating in group discussions, PPDT and Lecturette with other students who are preparing for SSB. Also developed my knowledge of global politics from youtube and newspapers.
In last I would say if we do the following things :
Work hard in a systematic way
Develop Our personality
Nothing and no one can stop us from achieving our goal.
So keep working hard and plan each and everything in life.
Many times during the SSB interview, TAT and WAT are the two tests that aspirants find more difficult and have a tough time coping with it. Among the psychological tests, TAT is also one. It is conducted on day-2 of second-stage testing. It is conducted to bring the real personality of the candidate through his interpretation of the stories both positive and negative.
The TAT involves picture projection and story writing depending on the picture shown. A total of 11+1 pictures are shown where 11 pictures are with a theme and the last is a blank picture, where a candidate should imagine a story.
The pictures are displayed for 30 seconds and the candidate is given 4 minutes to write a story about the picture seen. It is continued for all the 12 pictures. The picture consists of one or more than one person.
Here, I bring you some helpful and handy tips that you can follow to attempt TAT successfully:
Practicing the story writing keeping in front some picture is firstly advisable for the candidates. No matter what you write. Just write and catch up gradually as you continue writing.
Your story must not be too lengthy and you also cannot afford to write a long story in 3-4 minutes. Generally it should contain 10-15 sentences with a prolog, main body, and conclusion. Keep it simple and smart. Build you vocabulary to cut short the sentences and avoid twisting sentences.
The stories must be creative and positive. You should write what you perceived but avoid any negativity to creep into your story. The stories must have a definite and positive ending while they should be written in past tense.
In the test room, when the picture is shown, it is essential to attentively observe the picture and make out the characters and objects shown. As the picture is shown for only 30 secs, I advise that candidate observe the number of people, their gender, what they’re doing and their surroundings carefully.
When you have started thinking a story, don’t halt it halfway thinking that it might not be appropriate. Just go on and build more story. It’s your imagination, you are flying your minds, continue it to that unknown positive story.
No anti-national or anti-social sentiments should be included in them.
It is good to be calm, positive for looking at the picture and perceive the theme to write a story.
The story must have a hero and not a superhero. This hero or main lead should have a positive mind frame to tackle complex situations with guts. He should be a man of conviction with attributes like compassion, diligence, self-confidence, perseverance, adaptability, quick response, and ambitious attitude. Just a handy tip here: Try to impose the OLQs you remember on these heroes. Don’t make a fairy tale out of it. Be grounded.
For the psychologist, you are the main hero of your story so be careful and depict only the characteristics that you have or wish to attain in your life.
If you are not able to finish the story within the given four minutes, then pass on to the next picture shown, so that you don’t miss the subsequent picture. AND NO PEEKING!
When it comes to the last BLANK PICTURE, it is advisable to write the story based on the theme of the immediately preceding picture to make the story more natural and real.
Think of similar stories that encompasses all the elements as shown in the previous pictures and make those lines and arrange them into sentences. Just try to squeeze all the OLQs here too as a conclusion from previous pictures.
Write a story as short as possible with minimum redundancy and higher relevancy.
As a final tip, I would like you to practice this daily:
Take a piece of paper, take a deep breathe in four to five times to calm down yourself. Now, think of all the words you can and jot it down, no matter how creepy or laughable the words are. It could be the name of your crush or anything else. ANYTHING. Set a timer of 2-3 mins and continue writing till the timer rings.
Try to be as fast as you can and as positive as you can. Do this before you sleep and immediately after you wake to train your brain to develop creativity and spontaneity.

NDA Exam 2022 SSB INTERVIEW: The candidates who qualify in written examination will be called for SSB Interview from the available centers in India.
Stage I – Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR), Picture perception, and Description Test.
Stage II – Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and Conference
1. For screening test on Day-1, start solving intelligence tests questions from various books available. Write stories following all instructions like writing character details and action in the required time frame, then narrate in front of mirror to build your confidence and work on any weakness you find.
2. For psych tests, there is only thing practice, and keep on introspecting your responses not just from yourself but also from any SSB buddy you know. Initially the responses may not be up to the mark, but with consistent practice things will eventually work out for you. Try to relate the responses to your life experiences.
3. Amongst the CIQs frequent questions are asked in personal interviews, so prepare them. People will say SSB is a personality test and you can’t prepare for it. But there’s a reason SSB coaching industry is blooming. So focus on questions related to your PIQ, prepare for every section and keep on cross questioning your responses, to bring out all the responses. This is the best form of self-introspection as PIQ pretty much covers everything.
4. Other than that Also you should be aware of your strengths and weaknesses, and how are you able to utilise your strengths or how are you working to remove your weaknesses. Remember there are no specific best responses in personal interview, only the true responses (your own life experiences) are the best responses. Also have knowledge about the force you want to join, like if you want to join the Navy, then which arm do you aspire for, let’s say you said Submarine Arm, then why so, latest submarines, comparison with our neighbours, what role will you play in the submarines, evolution of Indian Submarines etc. Also latest defence deals, exercises, etc should be somethings you should know about.
5. First and foremost, thing would be to focus on your fitness. Although no one is asking you to be Bear Grylls or someone with six packs, but in tasks like GOR (Group Obstacle Race) and IO (Individual Obstacles, you will need a lot of stamina as it may so happen that immediately after the IO/GOR, lecturette/any other task will be conducted and if you are someone with less stamina you will be exhausted physically and that may take a toll on your performance. Also keeping yourself in shape helps you boost your confidence and project a positive vibe about yourself to the assessors.
6. For this you can start gyming or if you have a ground nearby start going for runs. Also if you are able to give team sports, it would be of best help to you, as nothing builds more personality than them, they bring out every aspect of you be it physical or mental toughness.
7. Improving communication skills would be of great help to you, and when I say this I don’t mean become a English speaking nerd, even if your English is just kaam-chalau that is you can explain your views properly with Hinglish it would do. Even the assessors stress on speaking the language (Hindi/English) you are comfortable with. So how to have that kaam-chalau English:

Want To Prepare For The CDS Exam and SSB Interview?
Hello guys, I am ROHAN SHARMA, from Alwar, Rajasthan, cleared NDA 148 in my first attempt now just to pass boards and join the academy…. My story towards recommendation was awesome although I always wanted to join the Indian Navy as I saw my father in the white uniform everyday but the real moment was that when I saw a speech of Admiral William Mcraven it could have been just a random video I watched as a 5th grader on youtube but it was much more than that it motivated me to such an extent that now all I wanted to do was to become a part of the naval special operation forces, MARCOS as popularly known but this was not constant it changed from MARCOS to naval aviation then surface warfare and everything, that is what the best part about NAVY is you can choose anything.
Then coming to the next phase where I had to get things done and not just dream was moving from class 10th to 11th, I have always been a goal oriented person, I may have 100 bad qualities in me but this one good quality fills up everything it is setting up a goal and achieving it, so my preparation it began from class 11th only.
I gave NDA 147 written exams just for a mock practice and cleared it too this was the time my confidence was high and I knew that NDA 148 will be a cakewalk only for the written exam part though. I got called up for my first ever ssb at NSB VIZAG but I could not go as was not eligible for it yet. Then time kept passing and I started looking for a good coaching institute for SSB, came across many but choose the best one. 4th November came and it was time for yet another written exam I travelled to Jaipur and gave the exam it went well and cleared it easily. Then went for SSB coaching, if you don’t want to waste your first attempt go for coaching that will be best. After returning from coaching I had insights about my performance and also about how to go from now on, also the ssb dates were out and I got 33 SSB Bhopal and I choose the very first date that is 1st march. Prepared everything and went to Bhopal.
Standing in front of the SCC BHOPAL gate I was excited to see people from all the different places gathering at a place to show their capabilities and achieve what they dreamt of 78 reported out of which we had service candidates then previously recommended candidates, and obviously screenouts conference out and freshers but we were just 8. Boarded the bus went to SSC and completed the document verification and all, had a decent breakfast and went to the testing hall for OIR, it was pretty easy did all the questions with 1 and 2 mins remaining in the respective tests. Then was the real thing the PP&DT, the picture was crystal clear and I formed a good story on it(good enough to help me get in). the narration was good and the group discussion was average, the results were declared after the lunch and I thought as I was chest number 75 our names will come at end but as soon as the GTO announced number 76, heart beat started accelerating but I did my best and I was sure to get through the first stage and so I did, 38 were screened in and 3 from my group of 8 freshers, and here is one more thing all 3 got recommended.
Then we had to go for documentation, filling PIQ forms and all the other stuff. Got the dorms allocated and rested finally, next day was our psych test, I was not excited nor tensed as had given 5 psych tests already, completed all the TATs, 55 SRTs and 59 WATs, SD was prepared and wrote it exactly that way. Psych test went well and played volleyball and table tennis in the evening it was fun. Next day was our GTO, we were taken to the 33SSB testing ground and it was like soo complex structures here and structures there, started with the group discussion which went superb, initiated both of them and was able to give ample points in both. GDs were followed by GPE, this is where the fun began, we were supposed to stop the bombing of a railway bridge so one of my fellow batchmates suggested lets go to the station and stop the train only, one of them thought that a purse forgotten is same as a purse lost, one of them said why the hell should we help the lady its her problem after all, I wanted to say I agree with you chest number… but its SSB after all, as the discussion ended me and my friend chest number 30 were laughing seeing how innocent our other friends were, then came the PGT and here the real thing happened, me 36 and 30 were leading the group and as we were about to solve the second obstacle third part we asked for the second rope(you get a plank, log and two ropes) they looked at up cluelessly and said what rope… that was the time I wanted to say something sweet to them and I almost did but just whispering and told them to bring the rope which was left behind the start line. The rope was brought and we completed the pgt, hgt was a cakewalk and so was lecturrate.
Day 4, starting with the individual obstacles, I did 8 of them, got a hard command task and the GTO changed the color of the obstacles often. I did it. It was followed by FGT which was again a cakewalk. Now came the real thing the interview my interview was the last one taken by the president of 33SSB and the trainee, both of them, although president did not ask many questions. Interview was good was able to recall all the CIQs and answer the typical questions as well I thanked my physics teacher who taught me fluid mechanics soo efficiently. After the interview I went back and slept. Woke up to have dinner talk to my friends and sleep again. The next day was the thing, the conference started in the opposite order and mine was a bit long as I entered the first question was, Rohan SSB is a test of personality don’t you think you taking coaching was not good as it may have changed the original you, I was well prepared for it and convinced them that what I did was absolutely right, I thought they were convinced and as a result after 3 hours or so announced my name. It went like number 13, 25, 36… this was it I rushed shouted my DOB, and went outside, 13 of us got recommended.
This was my experience, I would not say it was all easy but yes nothing was that difficult as I planned everything well, I would say just keep confidence over yourself if you think you can do it, that’s it nothing else matters, nothing! Lastly, I would thank all my friends, my best especially she was an important part of the journey, then my mentors at my SSB coaching, my maths teacher and all other teachers, and my FAMILY, MOM, DAD, and everyone. This was possible all because of your support and guidance.
THANK YOU

Hello everyone this is me Hemant Swamy the reason you are reading this today is because I recently got recommended for NDA 148 from 3 AFSB Gandhinagar. So the catch with my case is I have cleared all the stages of NDA in my first attempt 12th appearing, which is written in November, SSB in February, CPSS, and flying medical in March.
When I was in 11th I was crystal clear is that I am only up for NDA as that was my interest and my dream to be a pilot in IAF. So now the goal was set now the question was how to get started, at that time I was in 11th and I preferred not to give 11th appearing NDA written attempt as it made no sense to me. Later the same year when I just entered 12th I was fully set but the issue was I was not sure whether could I complete the maths portion before the exam.
And then I got the great news that the exams had been postponed from Sep to Nov and also there was lockdown-2. At its peak, this was a golden opportunity that I considered, and there came SSBCrackExamto my rescue. I took their NDA written exam plan and for one month straight, I just dived into their content and surprisingly I was able to complete the maths portion of maths in a single freaking month.
Then approached the exam I had at my center in Bangalore I went there and witnessed the maths portion was a standard one but I didn’t give up I gave it and I was able to make it. Later I prepared for SSB Interview on my own and was able to make it on my first attempt.
This was I was able to successfully able to make my dream come true and I would like to say each and every aspirant out there to believe in themselves and yes hard work is the key.
I hope everyone succeeds in their plans and all the BEST!!!
