As part of the build-up to the 78th Army Day Parade, Chetak Corps organised a ‘Know Your Army’ Mela at the Bathinda Military Station, aiming to strengthen civil–military connect and inspire youth about the ethos and capabilities of the Indian Army.

The event was inaugurated by Lieutenant General Shamsher Singh Virk, General Officer Commanding, Chetak Corps. During the inauguration, the Army Commander interacted with students and NCC cadets, motivating them to uphold the spirit of Nation First and consider a life of service to the country.

The mela witnessed an enthusiastic response from a large civil audience, with local youth showing keen interest in the displays. Visitors were showcased modern military capabilities, including advanced drones, lethal weapon systems, and new-generation equipment, offering a glimpse into the Indian Army’s technological transformation and combat readiness.

The initiative highlighted the Army’s efforts to foster awareness, transparency, and trust with the civilian population, while inspiring the next generation through direct interaction, live demonstrations, and hands-on exposure.
The ‘Know Your Army’ Mela stands as a key outreach event in the run-up to Army Day 2026, reinforcing the Indian Army’s commitment to national service, innovation, and strong bonds with the people it serves.
