The Low Intensity Conflict Operations Course conducted at the Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School (CIJWS), Vairengte concluded on 18 March 2026, marking another milestone in advanced counter-insurgency training.

International Participation
The course witnessed participation from Officers and Junior Leaders of the Indian Army, along with trainees from Friendly Foreign Countries including Republic of Korea, Namibia, Kenya, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia and Madagascar, highlighting strong global military cooperation.

Focus on Modern Conflict Dynamics
In his closing address, Major General Kulvir Singh, SM, Commandant, CIJWS, emphasised the importance of understanding terrorism dynamics, the role of intelligence and situational awareness, and the need for military-civil cooperation in complex operational environments.
He also highlighted emerging technological challenges and stressed the importance of ethical and responsible leadership in modern warfare.

Award Winners
- Lt Aryan Shahi (Madras Regiment) was adjudged Best Student in the Officers’ category
- Naik Abhishek (Rajputana Rifles) was adjudged Best Student in the JCO/NCO category
The course reinforced the Indian Army’s focus on building highly skilled, adaptable and globally integrated forces capable of tackling low-intensity conflicts and counter-insurgency challenges
