A total of 2,436 Agniveers were formally attested at the Artillery Centre, Hyderabad, on 20 June 2026 following the successful completion of 24 weeks of intensive military training.
The Attestation Parade marked a significant milestone in the journey of the young recruits, transforming them into disciplined and combat-ready soldiers prepared to serve in the Indian Army’s evolving operational environment.

The ceremony was reviewed by the Commandant and Chief Instructor (CEI) of the Artillery Centre, who inspected the parade and congratulated the Agniveers on successfully completing their rigorous training programme.
A special highlight of the event was the presentation of “Gaurav Padaks” to proud parents in recognition of their invaluable contribution to nation-building and for supporting their children in choosing a life of service to the nation. The gesture underscored the important role played by families in shaping the values, character and commitment of future soldiers.

Over the course of their 24-week training, the Agniveers underwent comprehensive instruction in military skills, physical conditioning, weapon handling, fieldcraft, discipline, leadership and professional soldiering. The programme was designed to prepare them for the demands of modern warfare and the operational requirements of the Indian Army.
Officials highlighted that the newly attested soldiers have been trained to operate effectively in increasingly technology-enabled battlefields, with emphasis on adaptability, resilience and mission-oriented performance.
Addressing the Agniveers, senior officers encouraged them to uphold the highest traditions of the Regiment of Artillery and the Indian Army, while serving the nation with dedication, professionalism and integrity.

The Attestation Parade reflected the Indian Army’s continued commitment to developing a future-ready force capable of meeting emerging security challenges through a combination of rigorous training, technological awareness and unwavering military values.
As they step into active service, the 2,436 newly attested Agniveers carry forward the ethos of duty, honour and selfless service, ready to contribute to the defence and security of the nation.
