Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, visited the Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun, reaffirming the Armyโs continued focus on strengthening officer training and professional military education at one of its premier institutions.
During his visit, Lt Gen Sengupta interacted extensively with the training staff, including senior instructors, company commanders, and faculty members responsible for shaping the next generation of Army officers. He commended their outstanding commitment, professionalism, and the rigorous standards they uphold in grooming the Gentlemen Cadets.

The Army Commander also reviewed key instructional facilities across the Academy. This included demonstrations of drill, physical training modules, tactical training setups, and modern simulation-based learning tools being used to enhance operational readiness. He expressed appreciation for the Academyโs efforts to integrate evolving military technologies and realistic battlefield scenarios into the training curriculum.

Lt Gen Sengupta lauded the high standards of discipline, physical fitness, and military ethos that continue to define the IMAโs legacy. He noted that the Academy remains a cornerstone of the Indian Armyโs leadership pipeline, consistently producing officers capable of leading troops in diverse operational environments.

The visit comes ahead of the Passing Out Parade (POP) for Autumn Term 2025, adding further significance as the Gentlemen Cadets prepare to take their final steps toward commissioning. His interaction and observations served as a morale booster for the staff and cadets alike, reinforcing the importance of excellence in every aspect of military training.
