Forty-one IAS Officer Trainees from the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) underwent Army Life familiarisation with the Trishakti Corps during a week-long forward area attachment in Sikkim, aimed at strengthening militaryโcivil synergy for national security.
As part of the attachment, the officer trainees gained firsthand exposure to the operational environment, challenges, and lifestyle of soldiers deployed in high-altitude and forward areas. The programme was designed to foster mutual understanding, enhance inter-institutional coordination, and sensitise future civil servants to the operational realities of border management and national security.

During the attachment, the officers visited key historical and operational locations including Bardang Prernasthal, Nathu La, the Baba Harbhajan Singh Shrine, Ganju Lama War Memorial, and Tsomgo Lake. These visits provided insights into the regionโs strategic significance, military history, and the demanding conditions under which troops operate.

The interaction allowed the trainees to better appreciate the ethos, discipline, and resilience of the Indian Army, while understanding the critical importance of seamless cooperation between civil administration and the Armed Forces.

The attachment reinforced the shared commitment of civil and military institutions to national security, effective governance in border areas, and a unified approach to addressing emerging challenges through cooperation and mutual respect.
