Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), visited 12 Air Force Hospital, Gorakhpur, today as part of the inauguration ceremony of a Cataract Surgical Camp, reinforcing the Armed Forces Medical Services’ commitment to accessible and quality healthcare.

During the visit, the DGAFMS awarded the prestigious DGAFMS Commendation Card to the hospital in recognition of its patient-centric initiatives, quality-conscious clinical practices and effective institutional collaboration. The commendation reflects the hospital’s sustained efforts towards delivering high standards of medical care to beneficiaries.

Air Marshal Sandeep Thareja, DGMS (Air) and Air Officer Commanding, 17 Wing Air Force, along with Air Commodore Yogesh Isaar, accompanied the DGAFMS during the visit. The Flag Officer interacted with medical staff, reviewed facilities and appreciated the team’s professionalism and dedication in delivering compassionate and efficient healthcare services.
The visit underscored AFMS’s focus on preventive and restorative healthcare initiatives, while motivating medical personnel to continue striving for excellence in service to the Armed Forces community.
