The valedictory ceremony of the 160th Qualified Flying Instructors’ Course (QFIC) was held at the Flying Instructors’ School, Air Force Station Tambaram, on March 27, 2026, marking the successful completion of advanced flying training for officers from India and friendly foreign countries.
Air Marshal S Shrinivas, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Training Command, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and awarded the prestigious ‘Qualified Flying Instructor’ badge to 59 officers.

The course saw participation from officers of the Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and the Indian Army, reflecting strong jointmanship among India’s armed forces.
In addition, officers from several friendly foreign countries—including Nepali Army, Nigeria, Kenya, Bangladesh, Uganda, Sri Lanka, and South Africa—also successfully completed the course, highlighting India’s growing role in defence training cooperation and military diplomacy.

The QFIC is a premier course that equips experienced pilots with advanced instructional skills, enabling them to train future generations of military aviators with precision and professionalism.

The ceremony underscores the Indian Air Force’s continued commitment to excellence in training, joint service integration, and strengthening international defence partnerships.
