Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, AVSM, NM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C), Southern Naval Command, accompanied by Mrs Laboni Saxena, President of the Naval Wives Welfare Association (Southern Region), called on the President of India and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Smt Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
During the interaction, Vice Admiral Saxena briefed the President on key training initiatives being undertaken by the Indian Navy and the efforts of Southern Naval Command in strengthening professional military education and operational preparedness.
The FOC-in-C also highlighted capacity-building programmes and training engagements being conducted with friendly foreign countries, underscoring India’s growing role in maritime cooperation and defence diplomacy across the Indian Ocean Region.

The discussions reflected the Indian Navy’s continued focus on developing highly skilled personnel, enhancing interoperability with partner nations and strengthening regional maritime security through collaborative training initiatives.
Vice Admiral Saxena reaffirmed Southern Naval Command’s commitment to safeguarding India’s maritime interests and maintaining a high state of readiness in the Indian Ocean Region. He also highlighted the Command’s role in shaping future naval leaders and supporting the Navy’s broader operational objectives.
