The Tri-Services Academia Technology Symposium (TSATS) was successfully held on 22โ23 September at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, bringing together senior defence officials, researchers, and academic leaders to explore technological innovations with applications in the armed forces.
A key highlight of the symposium was the launch of the IAF Compendium of Technological Challenges & Opportunities, a comprehensive document aimed at guiding academia and R&D institutes in identifying critical areas for research and development to support the Indian Air Forceโs operational and strategic needs.
During the event, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with nine premier academic and research institutes, formalizing collaboration for the development of cutting-edge technologies with direct relevance to IAF operations. The institutes were felicitated by Air Marshal Sanjeev Ghuratia, Air Officer-in-Charge Maintenance, IAF, in recognition of their commitment to defence innovation.
These partnerships are expected to enhance synergy between academia and the Services, bridging technological gaps and accelerating indigenous capabilities under the Atmanirbharta initiative in critical domains such as aerospace, avionics, and unmanned systems.
