The COAS Flight Safety Trophy was instituted to acknowledge and reward the outstanding contributions of individuals and teams committed to flight safety a cornerstone of operational effectiveness and mission success. The award not only underscores the Indian Armyโs unwavering emphasis on safety protocols but also inspires aviation units to continually raise their operational standards.
In his address, General Upendra Dwivedi lauded the efforts of all participating units and highlighted that flight safety remains a collective responsibility, demanding precision, discipline, and continuous vigilance. To ensure a level playing field and fair evaluation, the competition was categorised into two segments based on aircraft type single-engine and twin-engine helicopter units. This classification allowed each unit to compete within its operational context, reflecting the unique challenges and parameters of their respective platforms.
After a comprehensive assessment of flight operations, safety procedures, and adherence to protocols, 667 Army Aviation Squadron (R&O) emerged as the winner in the single-engine category, while 207 Army Aviation Squadron (UH) claimed the top honour in the twin-engine category.
