Lt Col Abhishek Ranade of the Army Service Corps was adjudged the Best Student Officer as the Senior Officers’ Course at ASC Centre and College, Bengaluru, concluded on 18 October 2025. The prestigious course, conducted at one of the Indian Army’s premier training institutions, is designed to enhance the professional competence of mid-career officers, equipping them with the knowledge and leadership skills required to effectively command ASC units in all operations of war.
A total of 18 officers from the Army Service Corps and one officer from the Botswana Army, a friendly foreign country, successfully completed the course. Throughout the training, the officers were exposed to modern logistics practices, operational planning, and technological advancements crucial to sustaining military operations in diverse and challenging environments.
The Valedictory Address was delivered by Lt Gen JK Gera, Commandant, ASC Centre and College, who congratulated the graduating officers and emphasized the importance of adapting to the evolving nature of warfare. He urged them to embrace innovation and technology in operational logistics to maintain efficiency and readiness in future missions.
In recognition of exceptional performance, Lt Col Abhishek Ranade was declared the Best Student Officer of the course. Additionally, Col Sarath Chand Achukolu received the Book Prize for being the Most Innovative and Disruptive Thinker, an award that reflects the institution’s emphasis on fostering creativity and original thought among officers.
The ASC Centre and College, Bengaluru, continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the logistics backbone of the Indian Army, developing leaders who combine tactical acumen with technological adaptability to ensure seamless support in all theatres of operation.
