Friends, I am DEVDUTT(CHEST NO.9)  from Haryana pursuing engineering from BRCM college of engineering and Technology BAHAL ,HARYANA got recommended from 12 SSB Bangalore on 18th March. Now  I am sharing my ssb experience with you so that your zeal to join defence become strong and stronger.One of my senior(NAVEEN SIR) pursuing Mtech made a team of some defence interested candidates and we practised 2-3 hrs daily after classes,held mock interviews,practised WAT and SRT ,TAT and discussed the outcome from each,practised for GPE from internet, we used to get up at 4:30and did the  assigned temporary obstacles in the campus for PGT,HGT,CT and applied the ideas differently).

Actually, I got a call on 11 Feb 2016 but due to some health problem I requested to pospond the date and got the fresh date (13th march). I started my journey from my village and covered a distance of nearly 2400km and reported on 13th march .I met with the candidates of different states and learned much from them. 203 candidates reported there and 48 got screened in.

SCREENING:- OIR was easy attempted all,then the real crux was to analyse the picture .In the picture i perceived that two people (one wearing a police uniform and other was not clear) were scrabbling a man who is part of some fighting).I made the story relating to clash between the students of two colleges and how the inspector solved the problem.
TAT:- I made very natural and original stories and blank story was about my preperation of ssb. Practised nearly 100 pictures on different and discussed with each other(SSB team in college).
WAT:-I attempted 57 words ,made simple and observationl sentences.
SRT:- I solved 41 solutions , practised much SRT available on internet and from the books availabes

So I was satisfied with my performance in psychology because whatever I planned before the ssb ,it was executed successfully.
INTERVIEW:- I had my interview in the afternoon and went for nearly 50 min. Maximum questions he asked from family (nana-nani also),friends,college life,about my village,education,daily routine,some technical also,games and sports,achievments etc etc. I gave answer of each question clearly and confidently.
So I was happy with  the performance in the interview
So in the night nearly 35 candidates gathered in the room and I chanted poems and jokes and played MAFIA game till late hours.

Then we had our GTO on the next day performed average in all tasks but the shocking thing was that GTO was looking to be not interested with our group because he didn’t permit us to complete a single obstacle and was not keeping his file with him also,he was speaking ok next we finished our PGT and HGT in 10 minutes
Then completed other tasks and did 14 IO, performed awesome in command task.
All the three tests finished in first two days and in the rest days we visited different places malls,parks,streets etc…
CONFERENCE:-My conference went for nearly 7 min. The deputy president ask about the stay,visited sites,rate yourself in three tests.I answered 9 in psychology.8.5 in interview, 8 in GTO. He got chance to ask a question that Devdutt tell me the one solid reason how you analyse 8.5 this 0.5 is pinching me, it should be either 8 or 9.Then somehow I convinced him the conference got over.

US F-16 Could Be ‘Made In India’

Even as controversy has erupted on the transfer of eight F 16s to Pakistan by the US, New Delhi has been considering a proposal to manufacture the fighter jets under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

In several recent meetings, including a high-level interaction in November last year in Washington, the aircraft have been offered for local production – both to meet Indian requirements and for exports.

The Lockheed Martin (LM) manufactured F-16 is one of the several fighters that has been proposed to be manufactured in India and is being actively pushed by Washington. But the American corporation’s executive did not commit any time-frame to have the plant operational, saying the group supports the ongoing government-to-government talks.

Currently, Lockheed Martin manufactures one jet a month from its plant in the US and has a series of contracts and joint ventures in India with over 1,000 employees. There are currently 3500-4000 F-16s in service worldwide and with these planes expected to remain in service at least until 2030 and beyond, there will be a major market for servicing these aircraft.

The offer to make the F-16 in India was for a more advanced variant of the fighter that is being sold to Pakistan and was termed as the F-16 IN Super Viper. The aircraft was in contention of the now scrapped medium multirole combat aircraft contract for the Indian air force but was disqualified on technical grounds.

The company has supplied six C130J Super Hercules planes to India in 2011 and will be delivering another six helicopters next year.

Lockheed Martin’s wish to manufacture F-16 is based on the strong demand from the Indian armed forces and would want to lower the cost of the planes for exports by using the low-cost capability in India.

While this approach may slow India’s progress in building up its force posture in the manner envisioned by the MMRCA tender, under which another 90 advanced fighters are required, it might make more sense from a cost perspective in that India could save money for a theoretical future purchase of the F-35 instead, a fifth generation fighter.

Besides the F/A 18 Super Hornet and the F 16IN Super Viper, the Indian government is considering at least two more proposals to make fighter jets in India. One offer on the table is from Sweden’s SAAB to transfer the Gripen fighter line to India. Another is a proposal by Airbus to create a ‘Eurofighter City’ in India that would produce its Eurofighter jet and generate thousands of jobs.

Certainly, Lockheed Martin would want to exploit the engineering skill and low cost capabilities in India and make F-16 very competitive in the fighter jet markets. India could now become the top maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) hub for the 3,500-plus F-16s in service worldwide – including those in Pakistan!

So, good to make them in India and sell them to Pak, insert a spy chip in them which make them useless if Pak F-16s enter Indian airspace again. And if they somehow do so, blow it in pieces using the chip XD. What do you say?

Story Of A Farmer’s Son, Left IIT To Join Indian Army, Won Sword Of Honour

“When in school, essays titled ‘The Best Day in My Life’ was among my favourites. I would write about different days, but today, I really want to pen down December 12, 2009, as the best day of my life,” says Ravi Shukla, son of a farmer from a small village in Lakhimpur Kheri, who received the coveted Sword of Honour and the President’s Medal for the Best Cadet at the Indian Military Academy’s (IMA) passing out parade last week.

From among 535 gentleman cadets, 22-year-old Lieutenant Ravi was chosen to receive the top honours on December 12.

“I knew that I was among the top three cadets, but the President’s Gold Medal and the Sword of Honour were indeed something that gave me a happy surprise,” said Ravi, while speaking to The Indian Express over telephone.

Commissioned in the 6 Kumaon Regiment, Ravi is not just the first in his family to join the Indian Army, but also the first from the Baraula village.

For the 1,800-odd villagers here, Ravi is a hero. Pramod Kumar Sharma, a neighbour whom Ravi calls his guide and who helped him prepare for the competition, said: “We have never had anyone from the village make it to the Indian Army in the past, leave alone winning the top honours. Ravi has not just made his family proud, but also his entire village.”

Having nursed the dream of being in the Indian Army since schooldays, Ravi made all efforts to join the UP Sainik School at Kanpur after passing Class VIII from St Don Bosco School in Lakhimpur district on the India-Nepal border.

“Even when he did not make it to the Sainik School, he kept alive the dream of joining the Army. It is his hard work, blessings of the entire village and destiny which helped him make it to the IMA and win the honours,” said Badshah Shukla, the proud father who owns 13 acres of land in the village.

In addition to Badshah, Ravi’s family comprises Devki (mother), sisters Sadhna and Prarthana and brother Pradeep, all elder to him.

Incidentally, Ravi could not make it to the Academy in his first attempt even when he had passed the exam. “When the call came, he was busy with his intermediate exams. The second time too, he passed the competition but when the call came, the date clashed with his sister Sadhna’s wedding. He requested for more time. A few days later, another call letter came and we sent him to the Academy,” said his father.

Also having aced the IIT-JEE, Ravi was in two minds about joining the NDA. “Both letters came almost simultaneously. Perhaps the dream of being a soldier was much stronger and finally, it was the Indian Army where I found my calling,” says Ravi.

A Russian soldier, Alexander Prokhorenko is supposed to have called for an airstrike on himself in Syria to kill ISIS operatives after touching and inspirational last words about love for country and family.

He was ordered to move to safety by his commander before the air strike but he told his commander he couldn’t escape the area, before adding: “Conduct the airstrike now, please hurry.”

His wife Ekaterina, who married her 18 months ago, had allegedly ‘no idea’ that her husband was serving in Syria fighting the ISIS. His wife was pregnant and they were expecting their first child when the brave officer ordered an airstrike on himself to blow the enemies along with him.

This was the reportedly the last conversation between Alexander Prokhorenko and his commander after he ran out of ammo:

Prokhorenko: They are outside, conduct the airstrike now please hurry, this is the end, tell my family I love them and I died fighting for my motherland.

Command: Negative, return to the green line.

Prokhorenko: Unable command, I am surrounded, they are outside, I don’t want them to take me and parade me, conduct the airstrike, they will make a mockery of me and this uniform. I want to die with dignity and take all these bastards with me. Please my last wish, conduct the airstrike, they will kill me either way.Last convo of Alexander Prokhorenko

Command: Please confirm your request.

The soldier died heroically calling for airstrike on himself, after finding that terrorists had surrounded him. The parents and wife of Alexander Prokhorenko were notified about his sacrifice and the entire Russian village of Gorodki mourned with loved ones, friends, classmates and co-workers of the Russian officer.

May his soul rest in peace. He gave inspiration to the generations of soldier to come by.

Indian Navy To Consider JEE (Main) Rank In Shortlisting Candidates For SSB Interview In 10+2 B.Tech Cadet Entry Scheme. Online Registration for four years B.Tech Degree course at the prestigious Indian Naval Academy under 10+2 B.Tech cadet entry scheme will open in Jun 16 for the batch commencing Jan 17.

 

Shortlisting of candidates for SSB will be based on ‘Class XII (PCM) percentage’ or ‘JEE (Main)’ rank. While applying, the candidates will be offered the following two options to choose from for shortlisting:

  1. Class XII (PCM) percentage
  2. JEE (Main) rank

Shortlisting for SSB: Equal number of candidates would be shortlisted for SSB from the two lists based on their merit in respective Cutoff criteria. However, if the response from either of the options is less, candidates from the other list will be considered for shortlisting.

Merit List: Final induction will be on a common merit based on SSB marks.

Compensation To GCs In Case Of Death

We have heard the news of few deaths of training cadets at Indian Military Academy and OTA during training. In case you are wondering what compensation a gentleman cadet gets in case of death or disability during training, below are the official details.

Parents/Guardians of GCs or GCs will not be entitled to claim compensation for any injury sustained by them during the course of their training at the IMA. Certificates to this effect as per Appendices F and G will be rendered at the time of joining for training duly executed on Non-Judicial Stamp Paper with Stamp Fee as in vogue in the State where the affidavit is executed by the father/guardian and the candidate. They will handover the certificates duly signed to their Battalion Adjutant at IMA.

All GCs undergoing training at Indian Military Academy will be insured for Rs 50 lakhs for death and Rs. 20 lakhs for 100% disability reduced up to Rs. 4 lakhs for 20% disability, as per eligibility conditions, with AGIF, New Delhi under arrangements of the Academy for their duration of training. A premium @ Rs. 5000/- PM will be deducted on monthly basis from the stipend admissible to GCs of DE/TGC/UES during training period.
