10 Ways To Convince SSB That You Want To Join The Armed Forces. There is one thing very important in SSB, and that is the ability to convince the board that you are totally inclined to join the Armed Forces. Candidates feel that they can easily prove that by stating in the interview that it is their passion and dream to join the forces. However, it is a bit tricky in reality to prove the same. The reason being very simple, SSB is a three-pronged approach. So nothing will be proved if you just decide to go on and say the above-mentioned statement. You need to take an approach so that they are persuaded that you want to join the Armed Forces.

Actions speak louder than words: No matter how old this saying is, it holds true for the situation we are talking about. You may go and tell the interviewing officer or the GTO that you want to join the Armed Forces, but that won’t cast an impression until your actions are there to accompany your words.
Increase you Armed Force knowledge: Any person who has an interest in something will gather knowledge about that thing. If you like Football for example, you’ll be definitely knowing various players, tournaments played all around the world, the rules etc. Similarly if you want to join Armed Forces you must know certain things about it, like the ranks, commands, awards, equipment etc.

Your psychological paper should represent OLQ’s: Writing sentences and stories without any purpose is of no use for the psychologist. If you want to tell him/her about your personality, you need to portray your OLQ’s in your paper.
Adventurous temperament: An officer of the Armed Forces by and large has a thrill-seeking personality. Your job will demand you to be adventure-ready. You need to show this side of yours in SSB. An adventurous side to a personality can be shown by your interests, hobbies and extra-curricular activities you take part in.
Adjusting and adaptable nature: They need people who are trainable and can adjust well with people around them. The family of the Armed Forces is a closely knit family, and officers are transferred very frequently from one place to the other. This demands the person to be adjustable with new people and surrounding. Can be shown by your behavior in group tasks.
The thin line between passion and obsession: Joining the Armed Forces can be your passion, but if you keep on repeating all the time in interview, GT and Psychological tests that it is your passion, then it goes on to show that it is not your passion, but it is like an obsession for you.
Level of preparedness: If you go unprepared in SSB, it shows that you are not serious about joining the Forces. However if you take special measures, like consulting an expert, going for a caching and referring online material for SSB, it shows that you are serious about joining the Armed Forces. You need to admit to the help and preprations you have done if asked.
Responsibilities and you A responsible person takes the responsibility of their actions. They do not blame others or situations for anything that goes wrong. Also they are sincere and understand their role. So as a student, your responsibility is to study well, listen to your parents and grow overall. This can be shown by your decent grades, by your involvement in family affairs and the positions of responsibility you have taken till now.

1. Captain Anuj Nayyar

Anuj Nayyar (August 28, 1975 – July 7, 1999) was an officer of the 17 Jat Regiment of the Indian Army, who was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra, India’s second highest gallantry award, for exemplary valour in combat during operations in the Kargil War in 1999.

2. Colonel Neelakantan Jayachandran Nair

Colonel Neelakantan Jayachandran Nair (popularly known as “NJ” ) was one of the outstanding and decorated officers of the Indian Army. Nair commissioned into 16 Maratha Light Infantry on 18 June 1971. In 1993, 16 Maratha Light Infantry was deployed in Nagaland. 20 Dec 1993 while heading an advance party of the battalion, his convoy was ambushed by Naga rebels. Col NJ Nair displayed indomitable courage in leading the attack personally to break the ambush and sacrificed his life defending his men. For this supreme act of valour, he was conferred the ‘Ashoka Chakra’.

3. Brigadier Kuldip Singh Chandpuri

Brigadier Kuldip Singh MVC, VSM (born 22 November 1940) is a retired officer in the Indian Army.^[1] He is known for his heroic leadership in the famous Battle of Longewala, for which he was awarded Maha Vir Chakra by the Government of India.

4. Gurbachan Singh Salaria

Captain Gurbachan Singh Salaria, PVC (Punjabi: ਗੁਰਬਚਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਲਾਰੀਆ; born 29 November 1935; Gurdaspur, Punjab – 5 December 1961) is a military war hero, who was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest wartime military award. In the 1988 television serial Param Vir Chakra by Chetan Anand, Captain G.S. Salaria was played by actor Brando Bakshi.

5. Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat

Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat was an Indian soldier who won the Maha Vir Chakra posthumously at the Battle of Nuranang.

6. Captain Vikram Batra

Captain Vikram Batra, PVC (9 September 1974 – 7 July 1999) was an officer of the Indian Army, posthumously awarded with the Param Vir Chakra,^[2] India’s highest and prestigious award for valour, for his actions during the 1999 Kargil War inKashmir between India and Pakistan.

7. Arun Kumar Vaidya

This Maha Vir Chakra awardee was part of the action during the 1965 war with Pakistan at the Battle of Chawinda where the first Armored Division of the enemy was destroyed.

8. Nand Singh

During World War 2, Nand Singh led his troops up a steep ridge in Burma and captured major trenches despite carrying multiple injuries.

9. Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan

Sandeep Unnikrishnan (Malayalam:സന്ദീപ്‌ ഉണ്ണികൃഷ്ണൻ) (15 March 1977 – 28 November 2008) was an officer in theIndian Army serving in the elite Special Action Group of the National Security Guards. He was killed in action during theNovember 2008 Mumbai attacks. He was consequently awarded the Ashoka Chakra, India’s highest peace time gallantry award, on 26 January 2009.

10. Captain Mahendra Nath Mulla

Captain Mahendra Nath Mulla was an officer of the Indian Navy and the captain of the INS Khukri, who died when his ship was sunk during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. Mahendra Nath Mulla was born on 15 May 1926, in Uttar Pradesh and was commissioned in the Indian Navy on 1 May 1948.

11. Lt. Navdeep Singh

Lieutenant Navdeep Singh was a Ghatak Platoon Commander of 15 Maratha Light Infantry regiment in the Indian Army. He led an operation to ambush 17 well-trained and armed terrorists who infiltrated into Jammu and Kashmir state. He killed 4 of the terrorists and brought an injured team member to safety before succumbing to fatal injury from close range. He was posthumously conferred the highest peacetime gallantry award of India Ashoka Chakra by President of India on the 63rdRepublic Day.

12. Lieutenant Susheel Khajuria

Lt Khajuria, pictured, died after taking bullets in a heroic gun battle with militants at Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir.

13. Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon

Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, PVC (17 July 1943 – 14 December 1971) was an officer of the Indian Air Force. He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military decoration, in recognition of his lone defence ofSrinagar Air Base against a PAF air raid during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. He is the only member of the Indian Air Force to be so honoured.

14. Sanjay Kumar

Naib Subedar Sanjay Kumar, PVC (b. 3 March 1976) is an Indian Army soldier, a Junior Commissioned Officer and recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military award.

15. Captain Saurabh Kalia

Captain Saurabh Kalia (1976 – 1999) was an officer of the Indian Army who was killed during the Kargil War while being held as a prisoner of war by the Pakistani security forces. He along with five other soldiers of his patrolling team was captured alive and kept in captivity where they were tortured, then killed. His ear drums were pierced with hot iron rods, eyes punctured and genitals cut off during torture by the Pakistani Army.

16. Yogendra Singh Yadav

Subedar Yogendra Singh Yadav PVC is a soldier and a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Indian army. He was awarded the highest Indian military honour, Param Vir Chakra for his actions during the Kargil War on 4 July 1999.

Actually, at such a height, if somehow your skin touches any steel (gun barrel in case of soldiers) for nearly 15 seconds, the steel gets attached to the skin resulting in damage of skin tissues. The disastrous result may also result into the fall of organs.

5- When a person retains for a long time at such place, numerous health issues occur. At such high altitude, physical problems like weight loss, sleeping disorder, memory loss, arises.

6- In case of any snowstorm, it may continue for 2-3 weeks. This is a big hurdle for anyone staying at such a height. One can either chase the killer storm or head towards any unexpected activity on the glaciers. The soldiers of the Army do both these tasks at a time.

7- On a yearly basis, Siachen experiences a snowfall of over 3 dozen feet. It’s just more than enough to swallow any soldier very easily. But, our soldiers without caring about their lives remain there and even perform operations in the hour of need.

8- Fresh food is rare on such location. This can be confirmed with a fact that if an apple is kept for a while, it will turn into a product as hard as a cricket ball.

9- As till now numerous lives have been registered on this battleground, a war memorial has been established on the river of Nubra. On that wall, the names of all Indian soldiers who laid their life for the country has been scripted.

10- According to the exact count, since last 30 years, 846 soldiers have been killed at Siachen. The Indian Army has made criteria that any soldier who dies at Siachen because of extreme cold climate and adverse conditions will be treated as battle casualties.

Sources of Cyber Threats

Cyber groups, Hackers– Various hackers and cyber groups work for different purposes. In most of the cases the reason lies in monetary benefit, to have thrill and experience or personal revenge.

Spammers – The unwanted fake emails that lure the reader to sell their product, facility or to distribute malware or spyware.

Spyware and Malware – Some kind of virus or we can say transferable programs that are programmed to do a spy job in foreign computers and harm the file and data of the system. Some examples are Nimda worm, blaster warm, etc.

Terrorists – Terror groups also use cyber-crime as a way to sneak into the servers to steal confidential data about nation’s security to fail them or provide it to the enemy nation. Recently ISIS was found advertising for hiring computer experts and programmers for its cyber tasks.

Requirement of Cyber Security

Illiteracy is still a great challenge for India. Our education system has changed a lot from the time of independence but some situation are directing that it has only changed for the money owners. Several scams in education department are surrounding the education and the future of the deserving student who loose opportunity even after working hard day and night.

Some parents have reported to the education department of Pimpri- Chinchwad that their children who are admitted in 25% quota as per Right to Education act, are made to sit in separate classes and are also made to enter and exit from school from separate school. Parents also told that school authorities are pressurizing them to buy stationary kit and uniform worth Rs. 5000. This fragmentation is an evidence of struggle that poor have to face to make their children literate. The RTE was enacted in 2009 which makes 25% of the seats of schools reserved for poor people who are admitted without donation or capacitation fees and interviewing their parents is not under provision. But this separation of facilities is not mentioned in the right.

A study recorded the data and told that India is the second ranker in sending the students abroad. Well, china is the toper of the list. Germany and Japan are some of the followers of India in this list. This count shows that how our nation is facing the lack of quality education institutions. Our prime minister has also shown the requirement of quality education in India which will enhance the skill and study pattern of India.

This involved doctors and MBBS students and a middle man who had a desire to own an SUV which made him to get indulged in the plan. Well the re-exam is still under the process and some suicide cases of aspirants have been reported in Kota and some other places who were preparing for AIPMT.

Last year an education scam was also unearthed worth Rs 5000 cr. Case of money laundering was registered and its root found in Sikkim, west Bengal, New Delhi and Mumbai.

The conditions are hard to change until money will play the lead role in education and people making it a business rather than a duty and business are most prone to scam and scandals. Education system has these days became a spot of money earning. Government is taking new steps to balance the derailed system. Kirgizstan Visit

Climate Change- A Global Issue

Climate change is a well-known term that is easily heard on T.V. or other media. But this small term means a lot. The disturbance is nature is showing adverse results and posing threat for life on the planet. Melting glaciers, rising temperature, natural disasters, change in pattern of precipitation are some of the easily observed effects of this change. More shocking data is released by the recently held study and report.

Recently a media report disclosed that the changing climate is making such an impact on environment, that a rise of nearly 1-2 degrees Celsius in the temperature can cause increase of sea level of about 20 feet. Purpose of this report justifies the effect of global warming that is a challenge for human race. The repost says that if the change in temperature goes on, then the effect will cause a catastrophic situation. The rising temperature is led the ice bergs to melt successively, causing increase in water level.

In another study disclosed a horrific information about climate change. Our atmosphere is expected to cross the mark of 50 degree Celsius in this century along with water problem are expected in northern region of the country. This increase in 8 degrees of temperature will be more hazardous for the survival for life with depleting resources deposits. Another amazing information was released that India has to spend about $200 billion per year if India fails to take necessary steps to overcome the rising carbon level and its secondary effect, rising temperature. The India partner of the study, Arunabha Ghosh, Chief Executive Officer on council of energy, reported the water wars in India in coming years. Main focus of the effect are seemed to be the northern regions including Chandigarh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Not only this, the acute rainfall also states in the study which will lead to flood in gangatic region.

The pace of this change is on its extreme and government is taking some decisions that support this change. The eco sensitive area of western ghat is decided to be reduced from 60,000 sq. km to 45-50,000 sq. km. The announcement is awaited and expected to be announced in August. Indian Army Rally Bharti Recruitment Procedure 2016 For JCO / OR. All candidates who are desirous of getting enrolled in the Indian Army as JCO / OR are required to apply online at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. After registration candidates shall follow instructions as given out and apply for the selected trade for which they are eligible. The candidates shall be given a date and place for conduct of Physical and Medical tests, the procedure for which is enumerated below.

Recruitment Procedure

General As part of the screening process, candidates will be tested in Physical Fitness Tests (PFT).Physical Fitness Tests (PFT) is mandatory and will be carried out for all categories during the screening process of recruitment to assess the candidate’s physical ability and courage.

Test The following tests will be concluded under Physical Fitness Tests (PFT) :

1.6 km run for Endurance.
Pull Ups on Beam (Under Grip) for Strength.
9 feet Ditch for Courage.
Zig-Zag Balance for Agility.

Marking System System of awarding marks for various categories are as under:

1.6 Km Run

For Soldier General Duty Only

Upto 5 mins 40 secs – 60 Marks (Group I)
From 5 mins 41 secs to 6 mins – 48 Marks (Group II)

For All Category less Soldier General Duty Only

Upto 5 mins 40 secs – 60 Marks (Group I)
From 5 mins 41 secs to 6 mins to 20 secs – 48 Marks (Group II)
Above 6 mins 20 secs – Fail

Provisions for Extra Time for 1.6 Km Run for Hilly Terrain Areas

Timings applicable for conduct of 1.6 Km run in hilly terrain will be as under:

Upto 5000 feet – As per paragraph 4.
Between 5000 feet to 9000 feet – Additional 30 secs extra given to each group.
Between 9000 feet to 12000 feet – Additional 120 secs extra given to each group.

Pull Ups on Beam (Under Grip)

The marks for pull-ups on beam will be awarded as under:

Min 6 Pull Ups are required to be done for the candidate to pass.

Weightage in Merit

Performance of individual for Soldier General Duty, Soldier Technical / Clerk / Store Keeper Technical / Nursing Assistant and Soldier Tradesman will be taken into account while awarding bonus marks as given below:

Soldier General Duty – Physical Fitness Test (PFT) + Common Entrance Examination (CEE) marks
Soldier Technical / Clerk / Store Keeper Technical / Nursing Assistant -Common Entrance Examination (CEE) marks. However, the individual should have qualified inPhysical Fitness Test (PFT).
Tradesmen with Aptitude Test – 30% Physical Fitness Test (PFT) marks + 30% Common Entrance Examination (CEE) marks + 40% Tradesman Aptitude Test marks.
Tradesmen without Aptitude Test – 60% Physical Fitness Test (PFT) marks + 40%Common Entrance Examination (CEE) marks.
Tradesmen Musician – 50% Physical Fitness Test (PFT) marks + 25% Aptitude Test marks + 25% Common Entrance Examination (CEE) marks.

Havildar Education and Havildar Survey Automated Cartographer – No Weightage. However, JCO Religious Teacher / Catering / Direct Havildar Sportsman (Meritorious Sportsman) should have qualified inPhysical Fitness Test (PFT).

Aptitude Test

Aptitude Test In order to ensure that the individuals being selected in the tradesmen category are suited for the job, which they are expected to perform, it is desirable that at the screening stage itself the candidates are subjected to an aptitude test. The aptitude test is conducted for candidates of artisan and traditional trades. Aptitude proficiency test will be conducted as specified in Appx to IHQ of MoD (Army) letter No 62506/Rtg 5(OR)(A) dt 20 Sep 06. Need for adhering to the policies laid down for conducting Aptitude Tests is mandatory. For Soldier Tradesmen it is reiterated that, the physical fitness tests constitute a vital input about a soldier’s potential / aptitude.

The Screening Board will conduct Tradesmen Aptitude Test at the rally site itself, as it is a pre-requisite for the individual to qualify before he is allowed to appear in the Common Entrance Examination (CEE). Soldier Tradesman category who are declared fail in aptitude test and are in Permanent Unfit (PUF) /Temporary Unfit (TUF) category, they will not go for further review medical exam and medical slip will not be given to such candidates. This will also be applicable for Soldier Tradesman (Musician) category.
