Vacancies: 90 (Vacancies are provisional and can be changed depending on the training capacity at the Training Academy for this course. The vacancies are subject to increase/decrease keeping the organizational requirement at the point of time.)
Type of Commission: On successful completion of 4 years of the course, cadets will be granted Permanent Commission in the Army in the rank of Lt.
Seniority: They will be granted seniority on overall order of merit of the three technical institutes combined i.e. CME, MCTE, MCEME and in case the date of commissioning coincides with that of IMA, Dehradun, they will be placed en-block junior to IMA (NDA/ ACC / DE Course ) but above TGC / UES course.

Indian Army soldiers of Rajputana Rifles celebrated a gold medal win by javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra on Aug 08. He is a subedar with 4 Rajputana Rifles in the regiment. Javelin thrower scripted history by winning second-ever individual gold medal for India at Tokyo Olympics 2020.
Subedar Neeraj Chopra on Saturday became only the second Indian to win an individual gold in the Olympics, out-performing the field by quite a distance to notch up the first track-and-field Games medal for the country. The 23-year-old farmer’s son from Khandra village near Panipat in Haryana produced the second throw of 87.58m in the finals to stun the athletics world and end India’s 100-year wait for a track and field medal in the Olympics.
Chopra won the country’s seventh medal and first gold in this Olympics and joined shooter Abhinav Bindra (2008 Beijing Games) as India’s individual gold winners in the showpiece. With this, the country surpassed the previous best haul of six medals achieved in the 2012 London Games. Neeraj Chopra will be taking the flag for India at the Tokyo Olympics closing ceremony.
Neeraj Chopra put in a stunning performance to win India’s first Olympic gold medal in athletics. The 23-year-old registered a best attempt of 87.58m to finish ahead of Czech Republic duo of Jakub Vadlejch and Vitezslav Vesely. It was India’s first gold medal at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics and also the country’s second individual gold medal in its Olympic history after Abhinav Bindra’s heroics in Beijing 2008. With his historic effort, he also took India’s medal haul to seven in the ongoing Games – the country’s highest ever, beating the tally of six medals won at the London Games in 2012.
Neeraj Chopra is from Khandra village, Panipat district, Haryana. He was educated at DAV College, Chandigarh. In 2016, he was appointed a Junior Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army with the rank of Naib Subedar. On 31 March 2020, he donated Rs. 2 Lakh in PM Cares Fund for COVID-19 pandemic.

Being a part of Indian army sniper team is no joke, it takes unique talent to join the Indian army sniper team. To become a successful sniper of Indian army you must have knowledge of land reconnaissance, camouflage and observation. To become a successful sniper and attain excellent marksmanship skills, you have to gain the required skills through the training provided by the Indian army at Army ranges in Bengaluru, Secunderabad, and Infantry School Mhow.
1. Meet Minimum Qualifications: First of all, you need to have the minimum educational qualification to join the Indian army at any rank. This is the basic requirement to become a soldier in the Indian army.
2. Become an infantryman first: Once you join the Indian army, you need to be in the infantry to get trained at infantry school Mhow under Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU).
3. Reach sufficient rank: Also, it is very important for you to attain a certain rank before you could join the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU)
4. Get good training scores: Perform better in your training and shooting in the army, having a good shooting capability would automatically help you to go for a marksman role in the Indian army.

5. Have Good eyesight: This looks silly but a good sniper must have a good vision. In order to begin Sniper training, your vision must either be 20/20, or correctable to 20/20.You must also be able to accurately distinguish color.
6. Excellent rifle skills: Having expertise and knowledge about rifle is must for a sniper, you must know your rifle in and out. One should also have excellent rifle skills.
7. Perfect physical shape: A sniper must be fit and fine physically and mentally, one must avoid smoking and drinking to become a perfect sniper because it takes lot of focus and concentration to be a part of the Indian army sniper team.
8. Volunteer To Attend Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU): Having all these skills, you must volunteer to join the Indian army sniper team. IF you meet all these skills, there won’t be any problem for you to get selected in Indian army shooting team which also take part in the Olympics.
9. Complete the course: Complete the training under Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU) to become a good sniper.
Government has approved establishment of Defence Cyber Agency, under the aegis of Ministry of Defence. This agency is now fully functional. To mitigate cyber threats, all the three Services have established their respective Cyber Emergency Response Teams (CERT). A ‘Formation’ is an organisation entity in the Indian Army like a Brigade, Division, Corps and Command. There is no organisation like an ‘Agency’. The raising of a Defence Cyber Agency is perhaps the lowest in the rung, not well understood, has limited resources and would not be in a position to convey ‘Deterrence’ as stated in the recommended Cyber Doctrine for the Indian Armed Forces.

Accordingly, the task force felt that while a Defence Cyber Agency is a long awaited and a welcome measure, it must provide the base for an Indian Cyber Command which must be created within the next three years to effectively respond to likely and emerging threats. Since one is not certain of the government’s likely decision, the report has expressions like ‘Formation/DCyA’. Formation conveys the organisational level of cyber power, (cyber brigade/division/corps/command) is a familiar entity, and hence, well understood. Recommendations made in the report are equally valid to both, the Formation and Defence Cyber Agency.
Further, the terms convey the long-term applicability and validity of the report as the DCyA transforms to a Cyber Command.
Formation of Defence Cyber Agency (DCyA) be taken as an intermediate step towards the formation of a full-fledged Cyber Formation or Cyber Command over the next three years, while concurrently developing capabilities for full spectrum Information Warfare with cyber power as one of its major constituents.

The Indo – Russia joint training Exercise INDRA 2021 commenced at Prudboy Ranges, Volgograd on 04 Aug 2021 with an impressive opening ceremony that saw the unfurling of the National Flags of both countries. Exercise INDRA 2021 will enhance interoperability between the Indian and Russian Armies.
The aim of the exercise is to facilitate joint training between Indian and Russian Armies to jointly plan and conduct counter-terror operations under the United Nations mandate. The conduct of the exercise will also entail academic discussions between expert groups of both contingents.
The exercise will focus on unit-level joint planning and conduct of anti-terrorist operations and will include cordon & search operations, intelligence gathering and sharing, perception management, humanitarian laws, and hostage rescue in simulated settings.
Exercise INDRA – 2021 will strengthen mutual confidence, interoperability and enable sharing of best practices between both the armed forces. It will be another landmark event in the history of Indo-Russian defence cooperation.
