Lt Amogh Bapat Young Naval Officer Died In Himachal Landslide

Nine people — eight tourists and their driver — were killed after a boulder racing down a hill during a landslide smashed into their tempo traveler in Sangla valley of Kinnaur district in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday. Among those killed was a 27-year-old naval officer from Darri in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district and his US-based friend; a 34-year-old woman ayurveda doctor from Jaipur; and three members of a family — a young chartered accountant, his sister, and their mother — from Sikar in Rajasthan.

Decoding Number Plates of Indian Army Vehicles

In India, all motorised road vehicles are assigned a registration number issued by the RTO of their respective states. These numbers are visible on the rear and front of the vehicles’ number plates as per the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR). These vehicles are registered with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

  • The plate numbering is started from an arrow pointing upward called Broad Arrow. It prevents the number from being read upside down and wrongly.
  • The two numbers followed by Broad Arrow are the date of manufacturing or the induction date of the respective vehicle . Example 21 – The year 2021.

Flood relief operations by the three Services in Maharashtra, Karnataka & Goa

The three Services have joined hands with the civil administration and National as well as the State Disaster Management Authorities in relief and rescue operations in flood-affected areas of Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa. Working in close coordination with the administrations of worst-hit Ratnagiri, Kolhapur and Sanglidistricts of Maharashtra, the Indian Army has deployed Task Forces, comprising Infantry, Engineers, Communication, Recovery and Medical teams in the affected areas.The teams conducted rescue and relief operations and saved precious lives in Chiplun, Shirol, Hatkangle, Palus and Miraj areas.

In Karnataka, the Indian Navy mobilised seven well-equipped flood relief teamsalong with Naval divers, rubber ‘Gemini’ boats, life jackets and medical equipment for flood relief operations. The teams evacuated 165 people from Singudda and Bhaire villages near Kadra Dam, while 70 people were evacuated from low lying areas of Kaiga.

Naval Seaking, Advanced Light Helicopters&Indian Air Force MI-17 helicopters conducted multiple sorties and rescued people marooned due to sudden and sharp rise in the water levels. They also conducted aerial survey of the affected areas to enable senior officials to assess the situation and plan rescue and relief operations.

Around 400 personnel of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were airlifted by Indian Air Force aircraft from Bhubaneshwar, Kolkata and Vadodara to Pune, Kolhapur&Ratnagiri in Maharashtra and Goa along with 40 tons of rescue equipment.

The teams of the three Services are working round the clock to rescue the locals affected by floods, besides providing them with food, water, medical. More rescue teams and aircraft are on standby for deployment.

Rashtriya Military Schools are English medium residential Public Schools run by the Ministry of Defence to impart quality education to the wards of defence personnel and civilians from Classes VI to XII. Cadets are admitted into Class VI & IX through a Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted under the aegis of the Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Army).

Selection Procedure:

Common Entrance Test for admission to Class VI and IX is held in December and is automated OMR based in subjects mentioned under the head “ADMISSION TEST”. For admission to Class VI a candidate should not be less than 10 years and more than 12 years of age as on 31 March of the year of admission. For admission to Class IX a candidate should not be less than 13 years and more than 15 years of age as on 31 March of the year of admission. Admission into Classes VI and IX is on the basis of available vacancies. Parents/students should also note that all admissions are in the category of Boarders only. No day scholars are allowed. Admissions are exclusively for boys.

Saikhom Mirabai Chanu (born 8 August 1994) is an Indian weightlifter. She won Silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Women’s 49 kg, bringing India its first medal in the event. Indian Navy Exercises With Royal Navy Carrier Strike Group

Indian Navy participated in a two-day bilateral Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with Royal Navy Carrier Strike Group (CSG)-21 led by HMS Queen Elizabeth in the Bay of Bengal from 21 to 22 Jul 21. The bilateral Maritime Exercise was designed to hone the ability of the two navies to operate together in the maritime domain.

The maiden exercise between Indian Navy and the Royal Navy’s latest Aircraft Carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth included participation of CSG-21 comprising Type 23 Frigates and an Astute-class submarine in addition to the other surface combatants. Indian Navy was represented by IN Ships SatpuraRanvirJyoti,Kavaratti, Kulish and a submarine. Anti-Submarine Warfare capable Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance Aircraft P8I also participated in the exercise.

Indian Navy Petty Officer (PT) Tajinderpal Singh Toor broke the national and Asian record when he registered a throw of 21.49m with the iron ball in June, 2021 to book his place in the Tokyo Olympics 2021. Toor is part of the 26-member athletics contingent for India at the Tokyo Olympics. Toor initially started with cricket in his school days, but eventually shifted to shotput. He hit the sporting headlines around the country as he broke records in 2017 with his best personal throw of 20.40m in the National Athletics Championships in Patiala. However, his personal best was not good enough to steer him to his first World Championships. He won his first major title with the silver medal in the Asian Athletics Championship in 2017, falling short of the gold by 0.03m with a throw of 19.77m. After a disappointing 2018 Commonwealth games, Toor punched above his weight to emerge as the Asian Games Champion in 2018, breaking the games and national record with a 20.75m throw. He repeated his Asian glory in the Asian Championships in 2019 by winning yet another Gold medal.

Indian Navy Petty Officer POCOM (Tel) Madari Pillyalil Jabir became the first Indian athletes in 33 years to seal a berth in the 400m Hurdles event in the Olympics after PT Usha’s debacle in the same event back in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Jabir was ranked 32nd in the World Rankings, and sealed qualification on the ranking quota where the top 40 in the world would take the prestigious flight to Tokyo Olympics.
