Lieutenant General Praveen Bakshi, VSM, Commandant of the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow, addressed the participants of the Joint EMI/EMC Course Serial 41, marking the formal commencement of the course on January 7, 2026.
The course is being attended by 16 officers drawn from across the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, and the Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA), reflecting a strong tri-service and inter-agency approach to technical capacity building.

Structured in two phases, the first leg of the course will be conducted over two weeks at MCTE, followed by a three-week module at the Army Centre for Electromagnetics. The curriculum is designed to provide in-depth understanding and practical exposure to Electromagnetic Interference and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMI/EMC) challenges faced by modern military systems.
Addressing the officers, Lt Gen Bakshi underscored the growing importance of electromagnetic spectrum management in contemporary and future warfare, where complex, technology-intensive platforms operate in congested and contested electromagnetic environments. He highlighted that effective handling of EMI/EMC issues is critical to ensuring reliability, interoperability, and operational effectiveness of advanced military equipment.

The Joint EMI/EMC Course aims to equip officers with the knowledge and skills required to analyse, mitigate, and manage EMI/EMC-related challenges across services and organisations, thereby strengthening jointness, technical synergy, and mission readiness in the Indian Armed Forces.
