Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Command, visited forward locations in the Garhwal sector to review operational readiness along the high-altitude frontier.
During the visit, Lt Gen Sengupta assessed the operational preparedness of deployed formations and closely reviewed deployment dynamics in the challenging mountainous terrain. The visit comes amid continued focus on maintaining heightened vigilance and readiness in strategically sensitive high-altitude areas.

Interacting with troops stationed at forward posts, the Army Commander acknowledged their unwavering commitment, resilience, and professionalism while operating in some of the most demanding weather and terrain conditions.
He commended the soldiers for the effective employment of modern equipment and evolving combat techniques, which have significantly enhanced operational capability in extreme high-altitude environments.

Reiterating the ethos of “Always ready, always ahead,” Lt Gen Sengupta emphasised the importance of sustained preparedness, adaptability, and technological integration to meet emerging security challenges along India’s northern frontiers.
The visit highlights the Indian Army’s continued emphasis on strengthening combat readiness and boosting troop morale in critical operational sectors.
