Upcoming Weapons of India for Safer Sky

India is currently aiming high to protect the borders with new and enhanced technology, as the neighboring interference has given diverse experience. Well, all the services of the Armed Forces have pulled up their socks and started inducting the new world class weapons that are needed to raise the deterrence power of India. India is constantly seen indulged in manufacturing weapons in a joint venture with other nations also, to bring new and advanced technology in the nation that will raise the level of weapons and war strategies. Well, some of the upcoming weapons in the recent future are as follows.

  1. AMCA – It is a fifth generation, single seat, twin engine aircraft with multi-role functions. It will be produced by HAL and will be a successor of Mirage, Jaguar, Mig -23 and Mig-27. It is produced to be primarily used by the Indian Air Force and Navy. Certain elite features of this aircraft are advanced radars and avionics, super-maneuverability and stealth capability.
  2. FGFA – It is a fifth generation aircraft manufactured by Sukhoi of Russia and HAL of India. It will be equipped with combat avionics, stealth and super cruise features. The aircraft will have a speed of Mach 2.3 and will have a ceiling of 20,000 meters with 9.0 G-load. The aircraft will have the performance level like that of F-22 and F-35 and will be multi-role fighter.
  3. Brahmos II – It is a hypersonic cruise missile that is manufacturing under joint venture of India and Russia. The missile will have a range of 300 kms and can attain a speed of 7 Mach. India has now become a member of MTCR, which it is using to extend the range of the missile. The missile will be propelled by the scrampjet during its cruise stage. The missile will be manufactured by DRDO (India) and Mashinostroyenia (Russia).
  4. Tejas Mk 2 – Tejas Mk II is the enhanced version of Tejas Mk 1 and will have stealth technology. It will use more powerful engine than the previous version and will have improved striking capacity with less weight. It will be a multi-role aircraft and is expected to be inducted in 2022.
  5. LCH – Another entrant from HAL, it is the Light Combat Helicopter with is under testing phase. The aim of manufacturing it is to get a multi-functional combat helicopter, which can work in all kinds of conditions. It is added with the features of stealth profiling, day and night combat operations and armour protection. It will have a ceiling of 6500 mtrs and will be powered by Shakti turbo shaft engines.

Conclusion – The weapon manufacturing has been escalated in India to ensure and secure territory. The indigenous production of the weapons has been the top target of Defense agencies and organizations to make India more independent in manufacturing the weapons. Moreover, FDI policy and procurement procedures have been relaxed by India to attract more investors. Lockheed Martin, Airbus, SAAB and other companies are approaching India for the defense investment. The pace of defence manufacturing is high and the progress is expected to rise exponentially in upcoming years.
