The official notification titled “SSC(TECH)-62 (APR 2024) COURSE: DATE SELECTION LINK FOR SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES OF SSC(TECH)-62 COURSE IS OPEN” was released recently. As per the notification, the date selection link for shortlisted candidates has been activated. This will allow candidates to choose their preferred date for the SSB interview.

SSC Tech 62 SSB Interview Dates

  • Date Selection Link Activation: The link for selecting the SSB interview dates has already been made active.
  • Deadline for Date Selection: The last date to select your preferred date is till 1600 hrs on 25th September 2023. It’s imperative that candidates select their preferred dates before this deadline to avoid any future inconvenience.

What is the SSC Tech 62 Course?

The SSC Tech 62 is a technical entry scheme for engineering graduates who wish to join the Indian Army. This course is tailored to train selected candidates in various technical disciplines, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary for a career in the Indian Army as an officer.

All male and female engineering graduates can apply for the Indian Army’s Short Service Commission Technical Entry also known as SSC-Tech entry. Indian army has published the notification for SSC Tech 62 men and SSCW Tech 33 women for the course commencing at OTA Chennai from October 2023. Eligible engineering graduates can apply for the SSC-Tech 62 men and SSCW-Tech 33 women from 11th August 2023 and the last date for the online application will be in September 2023.

  1. Login to Your Profile: Candidates need to log into their profiles on the official website where they initially applied for the SSC Tech 62 course.
  2. Navigate to the Date Selection Link: Upon logging in, candidates will find a ‘Date Selection Link’ for the SSC Tech 62 course. Click on this link.
  3. Select Your Preferred Date: A list of available dates will be displayed. Choose a date that suits your availability and convenience. Remember to select the date well in advance to ensure adequate preparation time.

SSC Tech 62 Men Cut Off Marks OTA Chennai: The Indian Army has announced the official cutoff for the SSC Tech 62 course, set to commence in April 2024 at the Officers Training Academy in Chennai.

This pathway permits Engineering graduates to present themselves before the SSB board without the need for an entrance exam. Those who have been shortlisted can now choose their SSB dates, which are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. The shortlisting was determined based on the candidates’ aggregate percentage up to the 6th semester.

In comparison with the SSC Tech 61, the cutoff for most branches remains unchanged, with all branches having a cut off marks of 60%. Only the mechanical branch has 65% cut off marks.

Candidates who have been shortlisted should visit the official Indian Army website to choose their SSC Tech 62 SSB date.

Final-year engineering students must ensure they complete their course, including any backlogs, viva voce, etc., to receive their qualifying BE/B.Tech degree by 01 April 2024. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of their candidature.

Retired Army Driver Became Fake Colonel in Indian Army, Fooled Many

The man arrested had retired from the army in 2003 and later posed as Colonel Chauhan to scam people. He, along with his two sons, tricked people into paying ₹7 to 9 lakh for fake job placements. They started this scam in 2016.

ASP Brijesh Singh of the STF stated that the man’s sons, Rajat Yadav and Prashant Yadav, are involved in the scam but weren’t found during the raid. Efforts to arrest them are ongoing. The STF seized various items, including identity cards and mobile phones, from the location.

These newly commissioned officers, belonging to SSC-116 & SSC(W)-30, have emerged from the respected corridors of OTA Chennai today, having transformed into exemplary leaders, ready to lead from the front. Their dreams of serving the nation with courage and valor were realized after months of dedication, hard work, and relentless training.

About Officers Training Academy (OTA) Chennai:

OTA Chennai is the cradle of leadership for the Indian Army. Catering to around 730-750 cadets at any given time, the Academy provides comprehensive military training, designed to equip cadets with the skills needed in the armed forces. Each year, selected cadets from the Service Selection Boards (SSB interviews) report to the Academy, typically during April and October.

Spread over 49 weeks, the training is segmented into two semesters, with each spanning 23 weeks and a three-week term break in between. The rigorous curriculum includes basic military training, physical conditioning, troop and individual sports, and a host of co-curricular activities.

A significant focus at the Academy is to ignite leadership qualities in the cadets to prepare them for the challenges they will face in the armed forces. The faculty at OTA Chennai is dedicated to ensuring the holistic development of every cadet, emphasizing communication skills, decision-making abilities, and psychological strength.
