19-Year-Old Forged Admit Card to Attend SSB Interview at 3 AFSB Gandhinagar

Following the discovery, Yevale was handed over to Gandhinagar police by the IAF, and he now faces charges of forgery and presenting a forged document as genuine. The case highlights the stringent measures in place to ensure the integrity of the selection process for India’s defence forces.

A 19-year-old man from Jalgaon, Maharashtra, named Om Yevale, was arrested for attempting to enter the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) in Gandhinagar with a forged admit card. The incident occurred during the selection interviews for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy.

The forgery came to light when the Indian Air Force (IAF) officials were verifying documents of the candidates at the 3 AFSB, Gandhinagar. It was discovered that Yevale had altered an admit card belonging to another candidate, Nikhil Dhakne, to appear for the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview for which he was not eligible.

Inspector Virendra Kher of the Sector-21 police in Gandhinagar detailed that Yevale, who had failed the NDA exam, used the roll numbers of successful candidates published on the UPSC website. He then manipulated the admit card using a software on his cellphone to insert his own name.

Following the discovery, Yevale was handed over to Gandhinagar police by the IAF, and he now faces charges of forgery and presenting a forged document as genuine. The case highlights the stringent measures in place to ensure the integrity of the selection process for India’s defence forces.
