8 Things That Makes India Special

India has just celebrated its 70th Independence Day on 15th August. The day was joyful celebrated all over the nation and several patriotic activities were seen in the entire nation. India has a special place in the world because of several reasons that sometimes asked in the SSB interviews. India has the 2nd largest population and the 7th largest geographical area in the world. Some other crucial and interesting facts about India are given below.
1. Largest Democracy – India is the largest democratic nation, which has conducted largest election in the world and longest in Indian history in 2014. India is the home of about 17% population of the world, counting about 1.2 billion people and marking the largest democracy in the world.
2. Third Largest Army – India possesses third largest army in the world and is strong enough to avert any kind of external threat and internal problems. With 1.3 million active soldiers, Indian army comes under the Ministry of Defense and is world’s largest volunteer army.
3. Self-Dependent And Hidden Talent – Cryogenic Engine, MOM, Agni missiles, nuclear tests – Pokhran and many more are there that describes India’s self-reliant nature and depicts the talent possessed by India. The contribution of Dr. Bhabha, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, C.V. Raman, Chandrasekhar and others in the field of science has raised India’s name with proud.

4. Geographic Diversity – India is the place of geographic and bio-diversity. Mawsynram receives the highest rainfall in the world, while Himalaya, Thar desert and Ghats makes India rich in diversity.
5. Conducted Operations In Arid Circumstances – Several operations have been conducted and successfully concluded by the Indians. Occupation and regaining of territory, evacuation operations, relief operations etc. were handled by India that shows the expertise of the Armed Forces and quick decisions of the government of India.
6. Sports Is A Strong Profession – Sportsmen of India are also ahead in their fields. Looking back in the past, Col Dhyanchand and Balbir Singh in hockey, Milkha Singh etc have made India proud. Now, Sachin Tendulkar, Vijender Singh, Sushil Kumar, Leander Paes, Sania Mirza, Saina Nehwal etc are working hard to place India in the world rankings. The Indian national Kabbadi team has won all Kabbadi world cups that took place till now.
7. Oldest Civilization And Remarkable Achievements – India has been named as the place of residence of the oldest civilizations of the world and some of the most exceptional inventions and discoveries have been made here. 0, algebra, calculus, lunar and solar eclipse, trigonometry, surgery by Shushrusha etc were born in India. Ayurveda and yoga are also product of India. It also said that martial arts was also created in India, which later on migrated to eastern nations.
8. Cultural and Religious Flavors – The cultural and religious face of India makes it distinct and attractive. The ancient architecture, heritage and agrarian touch are found exceptionally in India. India is the world’s largest milk produce and has Tajmahal (one of the seven wonders).

Conclusion – India has made a special place in the world and now heading to move above and getting leveled with other developed nation. Apart from the above mentioned points, several such facts and points are there that specifies India’s elite significance and more such facts will be added in future.
