10 Reasons Why Military Women Are Incredible

10 Reasons Why Military Women Are Incredible: Military men are indeed irresistible, but there are military women who cast their impact too. A woman is inspiring in all manners but if she is a solider, definitely that is an added factor of inspiration.

  1. She is tough: The fact that she is in the military is enough to prove her mettle. She is tough not only mentally but physically too.
  2. Confidence oozing out: If you see any women who is an Armed Force officer, you can easily make out so. The reason being their faces beaming with confidence.
  3. She has a hard time managing her hair: Ever thought how difficult it is to manage long locks and still be on time for training. Or how tough it is to put them all inside the beret tidily. She has to fight that every day.
  4. And even harder to give them up: In OTA Chennai, i.e. in the training for Army, almost all women are asked to get a crew cut. Obviously love for uniform precedes love for hair. But still it is tough to give up the long lustrous lovely locks.
  5. Fights with solitude: We all know that Armed Forces is an area dominated by men. She feels homesick and at times and isolated (though the men folk leave no stone unturned to make her homely) in the postings when she is may be the only women officer. Yet she fights her lonesomeness and gives her best shot.
  6. Perfection from Saree to Uniform: She can manage to carry a Saree and the Uniform with an equal grace. She manages to cook excellent meals, manage the house, run with guns, and motivate the men in her troop, equally well.Indian military women
  7. Jack of all trades: She is great in sports, adventurous, well read and knows everything from dance to cross country and given a chance she can be horribly good in any sport, without even trying hard.
  8. Manages her relationships: For sure we live in a society where it is easier to find a match for a guy in military, because girls are assumed to leave their job and settle with the guy they are getting married to, but it is still hard to find a guy for a girl in the same position. Not many guys will be ready to relocate for their wife/girlfriend in military. So it is hard for her to find a match. And getting married isn’t enough, because then comes the dual responsibility.
  9. Being a duo-military couple is tough: Yes, there is an option to get spouse posting, but it is hard to manage a marriage in a case where duty comes before anything for both. Often deployments, relocations, different units and other stuff, she (and her counterpart) have to face a lot, yet the bumpy ride is good enough to give the best shot for their country.
  10. She knows the real meaning of the word “Hero”: When some are there shopping in the best malls, she is running with a 10 KG bag for her country. She puts camouflage instead of eyeliner, and chose mud over facials. She is setting examples for millions, to live their dream, not give up on any hurdle. She is the real hero, managing two difficult duties, from combat boots to high heels, extremely well.

10 Ways To Convince SSB That You Want To Join The Armed Forces

1
SSB Interview 2015

10 Ways To Convince SSB That You Want To Join The Armed Forces. There is one thing very important in SSB, and that is the ability to convince the board that you are totally inclined to join the Armed Forces. Candidates feel that they can easily prove that by stating in the interview that it is their passion and dream to join the forces. However, it is a bit tricky in reality to prove the same. The reason being very simple, SSB is a three-pronged approach. So nothing will be proved if you just decide to go on and say the above-mentioned statement. You need to take an approach so that they are persuaded that you want to join the Armed Forces.

  1. Actions speak louder than words: No matter how old this saying is, it holds true for the situation we are talking about. You may go and tell the interviewing officer or the GTO that you want to join the Armed Forces, but that won’t cast an impression until your actions are there to accompany your words.
  2. Increase you Armed Force knowledge: Any person who has an interest in something will gather knowledge about that thing. If you like Football for example, you’ll be definitely knowing various players, tournaments played all around the world, the rules etc. Similarly if you want to join Armed Forces you must know certain things about it, like the ranks, commands, awards, equipment etc.
  3. An observant and alert mind: If you want to join the forces, you must have an alert mind, with the ability to think on the spur of the moment. You can show this in Group Tasks, and interview.SSB Interview 2015
  4. Your psychological paper should represent OLQ’s: Writing sentences and stories without any purpose is of no use for the psychologist. If you want to tell him/her about your personality, you need to portray your OLQ’s in your paper.
  5. Adventurous temperament: An officer of the Armed Forces by and large has a thrill-seeking personality. Your job will demand you to be adventure-ready. You need to show this side of yours in SSB. An adventurous side to a personality can be shown by your interests, hobbies and extra-curricular activities you take part in.
  6. Adjusting and adaptable nature: They need people who are trainable and can adjust well with people around them. The family of the Armed Forces is a closely knit family, and officers are transferred very frequently from one place to the other. This demands the person to be adjustable with new people and surrounding. Can be shown by your behavior in group tasks.
  7. The thin line between passion and obsession: Joining the Armed Forces can be your passion, but if you keep on repeating all the time in interview, GT and Psychological tests that it is your passion, then it goes on to show that it is not your passion, but it is like an obsession for you.
  8. Level of preparedness: If you go unprepared in SSB, it shows that you are not serious about joining the Forces. However if you take special measures, like consulting an expert, going for a caching and referring online material for SSB, it shows that you are serious about joining the Armed Forces. You need to admit to the help and preprations you have done if asked.
  9. Responsibilities and you A responsible person takes the responsibility of their actions. They do not blame others or situations for anything that goes wrong. Also they are sincere and understand their role. So as a student, your responsibility is to study well, listen to your parents and grow overall. This can be shown by your decent grades, by your involvement in family affairs and the positions of responsibility you have taken till now.
  10. Try and fail, never fail to try: The mere fact that you keep coming back to try again and again for SSB, even after not getting recommended goes on to prove that you want to join the forces on all costs.

10 Facts About Indian Soldiers Posted At Siachen

10 Facts About Indian Soldiers Posted At Siachen: Siachen, the highest combat zone on the globe, where a soldier dies to serve his country instead of cold waves and killer weather. For all the soldiers of Indian Army, posted on this bed of snow, it’s challenging to chase the Pakistan forces as well as to stay active in a 76km long glacier region, situated at 5400 meter altitude.

To retain at such an adverse location is challenging your own mental, physically and spiritual limits. You need to be a Super Hero, and that’s what all our Indian Soldiers are. So, let’s check out 10 Facts about Siachen Glacier you should know.

1- Under Adventure sports, mountaineers climb Siachen peaks at a time when the weather is appropriate and good. But, this is not true for our brave hearted soldiers. Our soldiers are always present at this location, whether it is a good climate or bad.

2- Siachen is the place in India, which has been the epicenter of the argument between Indian and Pakistan. Amongst three wars with Pakistan, two were the result of Siachen hostility issue.

3- The temperature in Siachen is minus 60 degrees. Not only this, there is only 10% oxygen available there as compared to the plains in the country. But, even these counts don’t affect the willpower of the soldiers.

4- There is a fear of Frostbit in Siachen. Actually, at such a height, if somehow your skin touches any steel (gun barrel in case of soldiers) for nearly 15 seconds, the steel gets attached to the skin resulting in damage of skin tissues. The disastrous result may also result into the fall of organs.Indian army at siachen

5- When a person retains for a long time at such place, numerous health issues occur. At such high altitude, physical problems like weight loss, sleeping disorder, memory loss, arises.

6- In case of any snowstorm, it may continue for 2-3 weeks. This is a big hurdle for anyone staying at such a height. One can either chase the killer storm or head towards any unexpected activity on the glaciers. The soldiers of the Army do both these tasks at a time.

7- On a yearly basis, Siachen experiences a snowfall of over 3 dozen feet. It’s just more than enough to swallow any soldier very easily. But, our soldiers without caring about their lives remain there and even perform operations in the hour of need.

8- Fresh food is rare on such location. This can be confirmed with a fact that if an apple is kept for a while, it will turn into a product as hard as a cricket ball.

9- As till now numerous lives have been registered on this battleground, a war memorial has been established on the river of Nubra. On that wall, the names of all Indian soldiers who laid their life for the country has been scripted.

10- According to the exact count, since last 30 years, 846 soldiers have been killed at Siachen. The Indian Army has made criteria that any soldier who dies at Siachen because of extreme cold climate and adverse conditions will be treated as battle casualties.

These are the scenario, a soldier need to face while being posted at Siachen. But rather than facing such roughness, inhospitable climate conditions, the soldiers devote their life to serve the country. You might find it surprising, but when in entertainment mood, they even used to play cricket. Even being the highest battleground in the world, the soldiers of Indian Army never let it be a complicated task to retain at such height and serve the nation.

GRAND SALUTE TO ALL THE SOLDIERS. JAI HIND!

Lecturette: Cyber Security

0
Lectureate-Cyber-Security

Science and technology has changed the face of everything and reduced the level of effort. The era has arrived when even warfare also got a technological face. As everything on paper is now on servers, Cyber threat has emerged as a new mode of stealing the data that eased the task of spy. The digitalization has come to such a level that, when everything reaches you with just a click and ‘Enter’.

Sources of Cyber Threats

Cyber groups, Hackers– Various hackers and cyber groups work for different purposes. In most of the cases the reason lies in monetary benefit, to have thrill and experience or personal revenge.

Spammers – The unwanted fake emails that lure the reader to sell their product, facility or to distribute malware or spyware.

Spyware and Malware – Some kind of virus or we can say transferable programs that are programmed to do a spy job in foreign computers and harm the file and data of the system. Some examples are Nimda worm, blaster warm, etc.

Terrorists – Terror groups also use cyber-crime as a way to sneak into the servers to steal confidential data about nation’s security to fail them or provide it to the enemy nation. Recently ISIS was found advertising for hiring computer experts and programmers for its cyber tasks.

Requirement of Cyber Security

India has nearly 800 million mobile users and 200 million internet users that are increasing rapidly with the digitalization of country. With the publicity of digital India program, it is expected to have a 100% teledensity by 2020. With the emergence of new thing, its illegal use also evolves. So, it is a challenge for India to secure its cyber world. The recent incident of china alleged to hack into U.S. servers for stealing some confidential data and ISIS advertising to recruit engineers for programming and IT services, the threat increases. Digital India which has a vision to explore governance digitally also comes under threat.Lectureate-Cyber-Security

What more can be done?

India need a central and state level coordinating body to review the strategy and further improvement. With land, air and water warfare cyber warfare surfaced as a new level of nation’s security and defense. Defense sector must be supported with such kind of bodies to avert the threat and maintain privacy to safeguard the crucial information from harmful elements. There should be a well-equipped organization under law enforcement to have power to neutralize the cyber-attacks and respond to the attacks by terror groups, foreign cyber gangs etc. Cyber intelligence must be give more training and expertize to reduce the attacks and pacify them.

Conclusion

With the hike in technology’s interference in almost all fields, physical works have reduced. Major threat appearing in front is the digitalized battle. Everything has pros and cons. So did it! Internet was made to save time and speed up the processes. But now it is being used as a weapon to paralyses any authority or even a nation. All we need is to gear up the cyber authorities to defend the threats and simultaneously catch the culprit.

Education System in India

0
Education-System-in-India

Illiteracy is still a great challenge for India. Our education system has changed a lot from the time of independence but some situation are directing that it has only changed for the money owners. Several scams in education department are surrounding the education and the future of the deserving student who loose opportunity even after working hard day and night.

Some parents have reported to the education department of Pimpri- Chinchwad that their children who are admitted in 25% quota as per Right to Education act, are made to sit in separate classes and are also made to enter and exit from school from separate school. Parents also told that school authorities are pressurizing them to buy stationary kit and uniform worth Rs. 5000. This fragmentation is an evidence of struggle that poor have to face to make their children literate. The RTE was enacted in 2009 which makes 25% of the seats of schools reserved for poor people who are admitted without donation or capacitation fees and interviewing their parents is not under provision. But this separation of facilities is not mentioned in the right.Education-System-in-India

A study recorded the data and told that India is the second ranker in sending the students abroad. Well, china is the toper of the list. Germany and Japan are some of the followers of India in this list. This count shows that how our nation is facing the lack of quality education institutions. Our prime minister has also shown the requirement of quality education in India which will enhance the skill and study pattern of India.

Scams like Vyapam, where MBBS and other deserving aspirants got betrayal after the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) officials were alleged planning to select the candidates who have paid bribe for it. Currently the newspaper has a column reserved for the news related to this issue. And the suspicious death series is also a part of the scam taking it to limelight.

And recalling the AIPMT scam that ruined the dreams of lakhs of students. The case was about helping the aspirants in cheating with the help of the hi-tech device. This involved doctors and MBBS students and a middle man who had a desire to own an SUV which made him to get indulged in the plan. Well the re-exam is still under the process and some suicide cases of aspirants have been reported in Kota and some other places who were preparing for AIPMT.

Last year an education scam was also unearthed worth Rs 5000 cr. Case of money laundering was registered and its root found in Sikkim, west Bengal, New Delhi and Mumbai.

The conditions are hard to change until money will play the lead role in education and people making it a business rather than a duty and business are most prone to scam and scandals. Education system has these days became a spot of money earning. Government is taking new steps to balance the derailed system. This need time and more activeness in fragmenting illiteracy word from India.

Ufa, Russia Visit (Indo-Pak Meet)

India’s BRICS and SCO summit was the main highlight of the trip and was indicated as the most fruitful. 7th BRICS summit was concluded with the decision to lend their local currencies to the newly established ‘New Development Bank’.

The SCO summit in Ufa was a hit as Indo-Pak relations witnessed new heights. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced to visit Islamabad in 2016 for SAARC summit, but made no comments on resuming the dialogues. The foreign secretaries of both the nations listed some steps to resume the dialogues. The steps are Ways to accelerate the trails in 26/11 Mumbai attack, enhancement in religious tourism, meeting of director general of BSF and Pakistani rangers followed by director general of military operations, releasing the fishermen in custody of both the countries and discussion between national security advisers to overcome terrorism. The key points of discussion between national security advisors are the cross border terrorism, Mumbai attacks and most boldly on Zaki-ur-Rahman Lakhvi.

The permanent membership of both the countries in SCO will be decided by the next SCO summit which will held in India in 2016. The membership will open new channels for India toward the international affairs. Currently India has observer status along with some other countries namely Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The extended foreign relations of India led new era of peace and solved distances by discussions. The entire visit was successful with range of deals and cooperation between countries. The initiative to make more friends seems to be a game changer.

Climate-Change-A-Global-Issue

Climate change is a well-known term that is easily heard on T.V. or other media. But this small term means a lot. The disturbance is nature is showing adverse results and posing threat for life on the planet. Melting glaciers, rising temperature, natural disasters, change in pattern of precipitation are some of the easily observed effects of this change. More shocking data is released by the recently held study and report.

Recently a media report disclosed that the changing climate is making such an impact on environment, that a rise of nearly 1-2 degrees Celsius in the temperature can cause increase of sea level of about 20 feet. Purpose of this report justifies the effect of global warming that is a challenge for human race. The repost says that if the change in temperature goes on, then the effect will cause a catastrophic situation. The rising temperature is led the ice bergs to melt successively, causing increase in water level.

In another study disclosed a horrific information about climate change. Our atmosphere is expected to cross the mark of 50 degree Celsius in this century along with water problem are expected in northern region of the country. This increase in 8 degrees of temperature will be more hazardous for the survival for life with depleting resources deposits. Another amazing information was released that India has to spend about $200 billion per year if India fails to take necessary steps to overcome the rising carbon level and its secondary effect, rising temperature.
